Chapter Twenty Two - The Return

Nico's POV:

"Leo?" I gasped as I could see Leo try and grasp his surroundings, he was in a coughing fit.

"Will..." I called out, "Come here." Will looked over and carried the girl closer to us before setting her down gently. Her caramel hair was marked with soot.

"Leo?!" he cried as he saw the small elf, "I thought you were dead."

"I thought he was too but... his death was different. I just didn't want to get anyone's hopes up." I responded I could feel a sooty, dirty hand grab my arm.

"Thanks for that Nico." He coughed before sitting up.

"You little shit, we all thought you were dead." I punched his arm before pulling him into a small hug, I punched him again as I pulled away.

"You can't get rid of me that easily." he laughed, he looked at Will with wide eyes, "How's Calypso?"

"The girl?" Will asked Leo nodded rapidly. "She'll be fine, you had quite a fall. She just needs some rest."

"Yeah, Okay, Festus kind of ran out of oil so..." he paused looking at the dirt. "What are you guys doing here? Were you on a date?"

"Um..."I looked up at Will who shrugged, "Yes, yes we were." I stated.

"No way," he cried, I winced thinking he was going to say something offensive. "Cool, Solangelo finally happened?!"

"Not you too." I sighed. 

"Solangelo!!"

"But- when did you know about Solangelo? Literally one has actually guessed it."

"Psh that was easy. You spent the whole war bickering, I could basically here you when I was in the sky flying on my dragon."

I rolled my eyes. "Please don't tell anybody."

"Why would I? It's not my place to say, that stuff is up to you guys." He said, there was then a groan in the background.  "Calypso?!"

"Leo?" She groaned again, Will rushed over to her. He placed a hand on her head and he glowed. I had to look away and cover my eyes to keep the light from blinding me. When the light died down I could see Will grin as she stood up without groaning.

"So you have wake up magic?"

"Shut up, I just healed her and she's fine."

"Good cause I don't need you waking me up during my naps," I replied crossing my arms

"Whatever." He rolled his eyes. 

"Hey so, you never did answer, how did you find us?" Leo questioned. 

"Well, we were on a date and then I heard someone yell 'Stupid thing' I then thought nothing of it but," I began. "Then there was fire and an outline of wings. I thought,' no, it's not possible.' But then boom! You fell. We came over and I saw a crater and I jumped - Well, shadow traveled in and felt around. I found two bodies and I pulled you guys out." I finished my story and Leos's eyes were glazed.

He laughed. "Man, you could have said you were on a date and saw us fall out of the sky." 

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, but we need to be going back to camp. We've got a school in England to attend." Will groaned and Calypso smiled. 

"School? What is this School?" she inquires

"it's well some boring place you go and learn things. You don't wanna know, it's boring."

"Alrighty then, let's go home then." I cry. 

"Oh no," Leo groaned, "Piper is going to kill me."

We all looked at each other and remembered what Piper said a while ago, "Oh yeah, you're dead meat. Good luck with that." I laughed.

"So how are we getting to camp?" He asked, I smirked and grabbed him.

"Hold on," Calypso held on to Leo, I held Leo and Will was holding my other hand. "Alright." I shadow traveled us into the shadows, the world dissolved. We joined the world of the shadows before we arrived back at Camp. They stumbled and fell holding their stomachs, that was a funny sight.

"Leo, Calypso, I offer you a place in my cabin if you'd like." I offered.

"I guess so, we'd love to," he replied grabbing Calypso's hand. They walked over to my cabin and tried to walk in. Leo frowned as he couldn't open the door, cabin doors don't lock I guess that's why he was bewildered. 

"Are you staying to Will?" I asked.

Will just smiled, "No, It's okay." I frowned at him. "Don't worry, you got this." I looked down and nodded. I placed a quick kiss on his cheek before turning to open the door to my cabin. I pulled out my sword and tapped it against the doorknob. The door unlocked and swung open, I ushered everyone in. I looked back to see Will already entering his cabin, I sighed hoping he would at least wait till we got in. 

They settled down in a bed across the hall, I scanned the area, "Alright, no funny business you two." They both flushed a bright red. "I'll be in the basement if you need anything"

"Why?" Leo asked, "you're fine here we won't do anything."

"I have my reasons," I reply.

"Is it because it's soundproof?" he said quietly.

I sigh. "Yes, Leo, Nightmares."

His eyes  were sad before they  lit up."Do you want me to soundproof your cabin? I mean I'll leave the basement but..."

I thought for a moment. "Sure, if you want to. Just get some sleep," I  turned off the light and walked to the basement. I looked at my instruments and then sighed as I laid on the couch in the corner. I fell into sleep.

I fell into nightmares as I usually do, but I also delt with them as I usually do. With music, I could hear people walking above me. I made my way upstairs to see them both awake. "What time is it?" I asked.

"About seven-thirty. Why?"

"No reason. I was just wondering."

"I'm nervous." he confides.

"About what? Returning?" he nods. "Well, there's no need to be. But I mean, I've always been an outcast so don't ask me."

"Thanks," he said. "Ready to go sunshine?" he yelled out to Calypso.

"Just a minute." She replies.

She came out of the room better than last night. The soot was out of her hair and she was in new clothes. She was pretty, I had no idea why Percy didn't stay with her but hey I don't really care. We made our way to the dining pavilion for breakfast. "Leo?" a female voice called out, we looked around to see that it was Piper.

"Hey Beauty Queen," he replied sheepishly.

She ran up to him and tackled him in a hug. She was teary-eyed, I could see her trying to hold them back. Once they pulled away she flipped him over her shoulder and punched him. Soon enough there was a line to beat the shit out of him.

---- Time skip to coconut island----

"You ready?" I asked Will.

He nods. "Of course."

"Let's go." I was about to shadow travel when Leo burst into my cabin.

"Wait," he said.

"What."

"Before you go just know, you forgot everyone else, and I'll soundproof this place, and upgrade it."

"Yeah, sure whatever. Besides, I'm sure Chiron can get Dumbledore to apparate the others to school."

He nodded and left the cabin. "Soundproof?" Will asks

"Nightmares," I reply. "Don't want to wake up the whole camp."

"Alright." he replies skeptically, "Ready?" He asks,

"Of course sunshine." I grab his hand and quickly leave before anyone else barges in.

We land in the corners of the Great Hall, as it as dinner there, no one saw us. Thank the gods for the dark shadows in here, I guess now we just have to wait for the prophecy to unfold.
