Chapter Thirty Five - Saving Will

I lifted my head and cradled Wills's head again. The grass around me began to wilt, I felt Will squeeze my hand back. He wasn't dead, thank you, gods. I held on to him and shadow traveled us to the school infirmary. I set him down softly on one of the beds, I rummaged through his bag to find some drachmas. 

I found pictures of us in a photo booth, the four pictures were all different. We were at a fair and he wanted a picture, I reluctantly agreed. He smiled so much I thought he was so bright right there. He kept making stupid jokes trying to make me laugh. He kissed me in the second to last one,  I was so surprised at the sudden kiss, but the last picture I kissed him back. THats when I knew I loved him.

I placed the photo down before I cried again. I waved my wand in the air creating a mist. 

"O' goddess Iris please show me, Kayla Knowles, at Camp Half-blood." I said with a wavering voice.

Mist shimmered lightly, She was out on a run with most of the Apollo Cabin. "Kayla!!" I yell at her. She stops running and looks around. "Up here!" she looked up and gasped.

"Oh hey Nico what's up?" She calmly asked still on a steady pace, my IM following her,

I looked around trying to figure out how to word this but I felt Wills life slipping away. "WILL'S DYING!!" I yell. She stopped abruptly causing a couple of people to fall as they ran into her. They grumbled as they picked themselves up.

"What happened?"

"He-he got hit by the Whomping Willow and oh gods he's so cold what do I do?"

I saw Madam Pomfrey hear my yelling and rush over to me. She tried to touch Will. "Don't touch him!" I growled. 

She flinched yet stayed where she was. "Professor, What happened?"

"He was thrown more than twenty feet by the Whomping Willow."

She gasped placeing her hand on her chest and another over her mouth. "He shouldn't be alive the fact that he is now means I can save him."

I didn't want to get my hopes up too much. "How?"

"Magic..." Both Poppy and Kayla answered.

I swore. "Kayla we'll need you here."

"How will I-" I whispered something in Latin and suddenly she was right next to us. Sadly Austin and some other camper were dragged here with her. Poppy gulped.

"I wasn't sure that was going to work." I sighed. "Heal him." I replied pointing at Will, they took a split second to take things in. They went into auto drive rushing about things. After finding Ambrosia, Nectar, surgery equipment, and a bunch of other things I can't pronounce they held their hands over his body and began an incantation.

The light around them began to grow. Also, it turns out that my yelling attracted half of the school. They stood by the door to watch them work, it was an amazing and horrible sight. I paced around the room. The light was died down and they were running around the room pushing Poppy out of the way.

I heard Will cuss as he groaned. "Fuck me," he grumbled while they placed some cream on his bruise.

"Can we have the room please?" I asked once they were finished. Everyone left, the Healers walked with Poppy to her office- surely to explain medical things. They closed the doors on their way to cut off the wandering eyes. "Will..." I sighed out as I sat down on the chair next to him.

"Hey." he said softly looking over at me.

"Why'd you follow me? You could have killed yourself. I would have never lived with myself." I said grabbing his hand and placing my head on the bed. 

"I'm sorry love. You were just hanging out a lot with Leo, you slept late, you left to 'walk at night' and never come back till lunch, you... Gods I thought you were over me already."

"Leo's my best friend, we were sleeping at the shrieking shack, I get nightmares now. I end up sleeping a little later and- Wait," I had a small smile. "Were you jealous?" I smirked.

He groaned and slapped my arm. "Hey, Nico?"

"Yeah?"

He leaned close to me. "I want to kiss you."

"Then do it." I said with a smile before he closed the gap and pressed my lips against his. He kissed me softy, he grabbed my hips and pulled me up to his bed. I kept kissing him as I stradled him on the bed. When we pulled away I had one hand on his cheek and other other on his chest.

"Does this mean we can be together again or is it just a kiss," I asked.

"What do you want?" he asked quietly.

"I want to be with you I really do. If it means telling people I'm gay, I will."

"No, no, no. If you still want to keep it a secret we can. Besides... it was fun sneaking around with the man I love."

"I love you too." I crawled off his waist and laid next to him on the bed. I pulled the blanket up over us.

"So... I can call you my boyfriend now?" he asked pulling me close.

I nodded and kissed his nose. "Of course your mine now."

He wrapped his arms around me and I felt my eyes start to close. The last thing I heard was. "I'll always love you." before I fell into darkness.

I awoke to quiet chuckles. I didn't want to open my eyes yet, this was the best sleep I've gotten in a while.

"You finally got some Will." I heard a female voice say.

"Kayla, you know I've liked him since he first came to Camp. But you can't say anything about liking him since he was like nine."

Really? I was ten you dumb dumb. I though but kept quiet. "Yet you've just got together now? It's obvious he likes you."

"No shit," he said. Although I couldn't see it I could tell that Kayla was confused.

"What do you mean?"

"We've been together for almost two years, well except for that week long break up."

"What the hell? Since when?"

I couldn't handle it anymore I burst out laughing. I opened my eyes, Kayla was smirking and Will looked embarrassed. I looked at him and kissed his nose. "I was ten when I first came to camp you dumbass and we started dating about a week or so after the war with Gaea." Will groaned and Kayla laughed.

"He heard everything." she held her stomach.

"Shut up Kayla." he spat but she kept laughing. His eyes went wide."You need to get back to camp."

"Why?"

"The war is tonight. You need to get everyone here."

"How do I do that?"

"I got it," I say. "Remember how I got you and your brothers here?" she nodded. "I'll do that... but with more people. Tell them to iris message me when they're ready and to get into groups of six. Hold hands and I'll travel them here. Others can ride a pegasus right?"

She nodded. "I'll go get Austin and Oscar. We'll warn the others."

"No, leave Austin and Oscar here, you need to do it. The less amount of people the bettter."

"Thank you, Kayla. For everything." she nodded and gave me a quick hug. I hugged her back.

"Let the war begin." Will said with a sigh.

"Let the war begin." I repeated.
