Chapter 18- Breakdown

I try to walk into the dorm cooly, but it's hard when you were just startled my killer leaves. Percy gives me a look, then goes back to his homework. At last minute, cramming. My seaweed brain.

I go to my top bunk, and shut my eyes for only a minute. Big mistake.

In my dream, Percy was hand in hand with Brittany. Then, she turns into her true emposi form, and drinks Percy's blood, with me helplessly watching, not able to move. Like I'm frozen in my tracks. She laughs as he crumples to the ground, I scream, but no sounds come out. She was closing in on me when..

"Annabeth!" Percy shouts, jolting me back to reality. I shiver, and Leo looks concerned.

"I think you may have woke up all the people in the west wing with those screams." He tries to joke, but his worry takes over. Holy Hera, I must have screamed loud for Leo not to take his jokes seriously.

"I-it's fine." I stammer and lie. "Really." I do my best to look them in the eye, but Percy knows I'm lying.

Leo plops down next to us.

"I think you busted my eardrums." He smirks.

I sink into Percy side, hoping to just disappear. But it's not that easy.

He puts his arm around me, and Leo gives a look of disapproval. Poor Leo. I change the subject off me.

"Let's watch a movie."

"Okay Annabeth. But we won't let this topic slide." He kisses my cheek, for Leo's sake, and gets up to pick a movie.

Percy and I sit together on his bottom bunk, and Leo goes off somewhere. Probably to the workshop.

For a while, we just sit close. Then Percy speaks.

"Annabeth, you need to tell me what's going on. I love you and I don't want anything to happen to you. If anyone tries to hurt you, let me know and I'll send them to the depths of Tartarus. Because I would do anything for you."

I bust out crying. I can't hold it in anymore, and when I finally cry, it feels like a dam dam breaks, and all the tears come at once.

I couldn't tell him Brittany and Kelsey were terrorizing me. I couldn't tell him I missed Daniel. What can I say? I just stay silent and give him a tight smile. Luckily, he drops the subject.

I wake with Percy next to me, exactly how I want to wake up. Everyday, for the rest of my life. He snores so cute, his nose crinkles like a baby seal trying to balance a ball on its nose.

Gods, I love him.
