"I'm trying to, I'm right out here for you. Just let me in. We only have each other." Steve turned to face Gracie, she turned to face him. In sync they continued singing.
"It's just you and meeee. What are we going to doooooooo?" They sang to each other. Steve hitting the high note with much enthusiasm.
Now that they were at a red light he could fully throw himself into the song. His fists were clenched.
"Do you want to build a snowman?" Gracie and Steve asked each other, frowns on both of their faces as the song slowly faded out.
Steve faced the road and waited for the light to turn green and the next song to start playing.
"What's the issue dear?" Grace, along with the voice from the song, asked him, "Why are you holding back from such a man?"
Steve glanced at Grace. He smirked at how it felt like she was talking about Danny.
He told Grace this as the light turned green and moved the car along.
Grace started laughing so hard she snorted.
"He says that the song is about you!" She said in between giggles.
She said it as the song said, "And though we know he washes well, he always ends up sort of smelly!"
"What?" Steve scoffed.
"He said that if you substitute a few words and phrases, then it's like they wrote it with you in mind."
"What? When did he say this?"
She shrugged, "a few weeks ago."
Steve listened to the song more closely.
"His thing with the reindeer, that's a little outside of nature's laws!" The voices sang.
"Danno said if you substitute reindeer with danger, it's about you."
Steve couldn't help but nod at that.
"Is it the way that he runs scared? Or that he's socially impaired? Or that he only likes to tinkle in the woods?" Sang the voices.
"Did he change anything in that verse?" Steve asked.
Grace blushed, "um, no." She shook her head. "Said it described you pretty well."
"Rude," Steve grunted. When had he run scared? Maybe all the times we almost kissed?
He focused back on the song.
"His isolation is confirmation of his desperation for healing hugs!"
Grace turned to give Steve a see look.
Steve opened and shut his mouth, okay, wow. How did they know? How did Danny know? How did Grace know!?
"The way to fix up this fixer upper is to fix him up with you!"
"Is Danny... Anna in this scenario?" Steve asked after a second of pondering.
" Obviously!" Grace replied.
"ENOUGH!" Yelled Kristoff in the song. "She is engaged to someone else, okay!"
Hmm.
ENOUGH! He's not gay okay! Steve wondered what Danny imagined the Kristoff version of himself yelling. ENOUGH! He's still involved with his ex, okay!
Steve smirked, Danny really had liked him for a while now.
"We're not saying you can change him, because people don't really change." Voices harmonized in the background. "We're only saying that love's a force, that's powerful and strange! People make bad choices if their mad or scared or stressed. Throw a little love their way! You'll bring out their best! True love brings out the best!"
Steve was giddy. He'd been feeling that a lot lately.
Danny knows me. He knows all my flaws and shortcomings. And he knows that I'm not just some charity case, something he can fix, some puzzle for him to solve and throw away later.
"Steve, the turn!"
"Oh right!" Steve said, turning as quickly as he could while still prioritizing Gracie's safety.
By the time Steve was parking in the hospital parking lot, Anna and Kristoff were "getting married."
