Steve paused outside Danny's door, composing himself. Deep breath. Controlled smirk. Calmly, he walked into Danny's room.

He was met with a stuffed animal to the face.

"Why'd you throw Dannosaur?"

"Why'd you stick me down here?"

"Well. I don't know if you noticed, but, you are in a wheelchair."

"You're probably strong enough to carry me up to our room. God knows what else you've carried in your GI Joe days, you're like freakishly strong. It's not human."

Steve stared at him, his controlled smirk coming back. "Would you want me to carry you monkey style? Or bridal style?"

Danny threw the seal. "You're very mature, you know that?"

"You're the one throwing stuffed animals." Steve walked over to Danny, both dannosaur and super seal in hand.

"You're the one who placed 'em on my bed." Danny wheeled around towards the bed, Steve was setting them back down.

"Well," Steve said, turning to Danny and sitting on the bed, "I figured it would be nice for us to have them down here, seeing as we're used to them sleeping at our bedside."

Danny looked at Steve, his eyes studying Steve's.

"You sleeping down here with me?"

"Why wouldn't I?"

There was a silence.

"Thank you, for bringing the stuffed animals," Danny finally said, glancing around the room, "and my favorite pillow, and you brought down our comforter -- you know how much I like it-- and I saw my clothes in the closet, my shoes, my ties. That was, uh, very nice of you."

"So..." Steve said after another moment of brief silence, he looked at Danny's wheelchair, "how did your talk with your mom go? From this morning. What did she say? About us?"

"Umm... she didn't really."

Steve tilted his head. He had been sure they would have talked about the elephant in the room.

"I think," Danny paused tilting his head side to side, biting his lip, "she suspects. But it's like she doesn't want to ask."

"So, nothing like Mary and Rachel." Steve joked.

"Yeah. I think it's her... waiting for me to feel comfortable coming to her, I guess, I don't know. Honestly, if you were a Stephanie, she would be asking about the wedding right about now. She's got a big personality, always saying more than she should, always having to comment on everything, every little detail is a big deal to her-- what? Why you smiling?"

"Nothin, she just sounds like someone I love very much."

"I... I love you too. You are talking about me right?"

"Yes," Steve chuckled, "yes Danny."

"Good... Speaking of, I am officially out of the hospital." He gently started rocking his wheelchair back and forth, he needed something to do with his good hand.
