Chapter 8

So you're a Saiyan

*Present day*

I opened my eyes and looked out the pod window. We were flying near Planet Earth

Marcus was asleep on my lap. I carefully reached around him and set the pods destination for Earth

The pod turned right and went straight for the beautiful planet

I closed my eyes and held Marcus tight as the pod began to shake. We entered the atmosphere and flew to the ground. 

When we hit Marcus looked up to me and sighed "Where are we?"

"Earth" I smiled at him

Marcus climbed off my lap as I stood up in the pod. I had to hunch over because it was kind of small. He sat in the chair behind me and I opened the door

I felt the cool breeze hit my face and heard the beautiful birds singing in the trees

"Is it safe?" Marcus asked as I climbed out

I looked around the area and saw nothing but trees and small animals

"Those look like squirrels..Ethan said they were harmless"

I turned towards the pod "Yeah baby, it's safe"

Marcus climbed out of the pod and gasped at the sight

"It's beautiful here mama" He said as he walked over to me

"It is" I put my arm around him and smiled

"Now what?" He asked

"Now we find food" I closed my eyes and felt around for energy

"It feels like there's a lot of energy coming from that direction" I pointed south

"Lots of energy means lots of people! And lots of people means food!" Marcus jumped up and down

"Lets get going" I flew into the air and Marcus followed

He held my hand as we flew over the forest and towards a small town

When we got close I flew towards the ground and landed by a small park

"Why can't we fly mama?" He asked

"Humans don't fly"  I heard Ethan's voice in my head

"The people here are slightly different than us" I said as I looked to the children and their parents

"They don't have tails!" Marcus said

"They don't fly either. They don't have power like we do" I looked down to my son

He smiled at the children playing at the park

"Mommy" Marcus looked up to me with pleading eyes

I looked from the children to him and back

"You can go play with them Marcus. But REMEMBER...if you feel angry or upset COME FIND ME immediately okay?"

"Okay mama!" He ran towards the children on the slide. Marcus hasn't really been around children much. We move so often he never gets a chance to make friends. He acts like he doesn't care but I saw the look in his eyes..he longs for friendship.. I feel like I failed as a mother 

I sighed and began walking down the path that connects the park to the city. When I got to the end I saw 2 large rectangle machines

"They are called snack machines! You put money in and press a button for whatever food you pick. Some even have drinks in them!" I remember Ethan explaining it to me
