Age:10

"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!"

I groaned and rolled over.

"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP"

"ARG!" I sighed. Rolling over I brought my hand down, balled in a fist and slammed it on the alarm clock making it slide off my dresser. Finally. Peace!

I closed my eyes and was about to drift away when suddenly I felt something cold grab my ankles. I shrieked as I was flung forward and hit the ground with a "THUMP"

I looked up to see my mother chuckling.

I sent her a death glare.

"It's your first day kiddo! My little ten year old...growing up on me!"

"Mom! I'm not a kid! I'm ten!" I pouted. She laughed.

"Pancakes are downstairs; you can have them only after you get ready!" She winked leaving my room.

You see, mom and dad had gone through a nasty divorce, so nasty in fact we moved to Florida; we used to live in Washington. Personally, I was never close to my father, I never knew why though. Just there was something off about him. So, it was my first day of fifth grade! Woo..... No. It was the last year of elementary school....everyone would already have their groups and stuff. Of course I am worried! What would they think of me, would they like me? I told mom my worries yesterday, and she said that I was beautiful. But being my mother, she was occupied to say that. Every mom was! I slid out of bed and plopped my alarm clock back on my dresser. Smiling, I walked over to the outfit mom had laid out for me. It consisted of light purple skinny jeans, a sequined pink tank top, the top was lacey, and an open cream stich cardigan. I also added a pair silver bow flats. My mom has a very good sense of style! Throwing the outfit on, I trotted downstairs and sat myself at the kitchen table where the pancakes were all set out ready for me. I poured myself a glass of milk and dug into my pancakes. I swear. Nothing every beats mom's pancakes. She should cook for a living. As I continued to eat the amazing goodness it slowly disappeared as I finished it. I sighed and put them in the sink. Running over to the steps, I jogged up and bolted over to the bathroom. I used my minty toothpaste (it always leaves a nasty aftertaste ) and held my hair up before spitting it all out into the sink.

"WYN TEGAN BLAKE. ARE YOU READY YET?!" Mom screamed.

I laughed and ran down the stairs.

"Mom, can you braid my hair?" I pleaded

She nodded and I stood in front of her.

"ow.." I mumbled.

When she was done, I raced over to the mirror to look at the braid. My blondish brown hair was pulled into was they called a "French Braid" I smiled and hugged my mother.

"Lets go!" She announced, pulling me into our car.

"Bye Mom! I whispered as I hugged her. She hugged me back and then drove off. I gulped as I began to walked through the doors.

As I scrambled through the hallway to the room that was my teacher's. I was already late. School had started at 7. It was 11 now....Mom insisted that we 'bonded' first. She was so silly sometimes. I bit my lip nervously as I approached the door. My footsteps echoed throughout the empty hallway. I tugged on my backpack as I gripped the handle and slowly pulled it open. I walked in the classroom and I gulped. All eyes were already on me. I slowly approached the teacher, "You must be...ummmm Whin?" she guessed. I sighed but threw on a smile. "Wyn!" "Oh! Hello Wyn! I am Mrs. Rutzinger!" she turned to the class. "Class, this is Wyn. She is from Washington so be good!" I smiled and waved. The class mumbled "hello's!" and I grinned wider. "You can go put your backpack in the cubby room. Austin?" I turned my head as I saw a boy stand up. "Yes mam'?" Aw. He was cute. He had brown hair, hazel eyes, an adorable smile too. I bit my lip nervously. "Can you please show Wyn here the cubby room? She will be sharing a cubby with you, and will be your partner." He smiled, "Sure!" I blushed and he walked ahead of me, gesturing for me to follow him. When we got into the cubby room, he pointed at what one was mine and his. "This one!" he smiled. I nodded and placed my back pack there. "Im Austin!" he smiled. "Im Wyn!" I replied with as much enthusiasm he did. He laughed. "I think were going to be best friends Wyn!" I giggled. "Me too Austin!" He smiled and pulled on my hand towards the desks. I plopped myself next to him and I played with my pencil, rolling it up my desk and blocking it with my hands. Suddenly, there was a piece of paper on my desk. I unwrapped it and looked at the handwriting.

"Hey Wyn! What neighborhood do you live in?"

-Austin(:

I giggled.

"Hey there Austin! And Fox Den!"

-Wyn :D

I pushed it over to him and looked at him. He smiled. I blushed and smiled back. He unwrapped it and I turned around paying attention to Mrs.Rutzinger who was talking about multiplication. Gahh. Too much for my brain. I felt a sting on my arm and I looked over to where the paper was being poked into my skin. Austin sheepishly smiled and I rolled my eyes taking the note.

"ME TOO! BEST FRIEND FOREVER! I LIVE ON CORAL SPRINGS ROAD. WHAT ABOUT YOU. MINE IS 9372!"

I laughed at how excited he was.

"SNAP! And yes. Forever we shall! AND ME TOO! MINE IS 9373!(: "

I tossed the note back to him and laughed as he jumped in his seat, slightly alarmed. I bit my lip as he squealed reading the note. I giggled.

"Well then! See you at home!(:"

As Austin and I turned our attention back to the teacher my mind had other plans... I turned over and I studied Austin. You could tell he was the popular kid, even though we were only in fifth grade you still could tell. The way he walks, talks, and hey, he is quite the catch! His brown hair in that he would flick out of his eyes when he was looking down, the warm hazel eyes, his smile. Yup. Anyone could tell. Austin must of felt my gaze because he turned over to look and me. He caught my gaze and I smiled, he replied with his own goofy smile. I giggled and turned my attention back to the teacher. Well, at least I had one new friend....

And that ladies and gentlemen, is how I met the one and only, Austin Mahone.
