Ty's POV
I'm so done with Darklox.
He somehow managed to break out of the hospital a SECOND time, and now I'm hidden underground, trapped inside of my own mind.
It isn't fair. Why did I have to get stuck with Darklox, when he could've just been on his own, and someone to kill.
I'm pretty sure he'd rather have it that way. I hold him back, and I'm glad.
I've made up my mind. The second I regain control, I'm going to Sky and telling him everything.
That's not as easy as it looks. It's difficult to get rid of Darklox. He's stronger than he looks, considering the fact that his "looks" are a small twelve-year-old boy with barely any skill with weapons.
Unfortunatley for me Darklox can hear everything I'm thinking.
"You know what?" He grins in a nasty way, and I don't want to know what's going to happen.
"I like your plan of going to see Sky. Let's speed it up."
No. No. No. I don't have control. This means one thing.
He's going to kill Sky.
Sky's POV
I'm pacing back and forth in the kitchen, trying to figure out how we're going to solve this.
I tried everything. I tried to track Shane and Hope with the tracking device Mitch had given to Shane the day he arrived, but either Shane's dead or he broke the tracking device, because we've got nothing on them.
Mitch has locked himself in his room. I haven't seen him for two days. Jerome tried and failed to get him to come out for meals, but he wouldn't budge, so now Jerome just opens his door a crack and slides Mitch's food in his room. We don't want him to starve.
Luckily, though, Jerome got Mitch to go with him for training today.
A knock on the door makes me stop pacing. Who could that be? We don't get many visitors.
I'm the only one in the house. Everyone else is busy on the training grounds, starting the two weeks of preparation we decided on.
I open up the door. "He-"
The person at the door makes me stop midsentence.
"Ty?" I ask.
He gives me a smile that seems fake. There's something about him...this doesn't seem like Ty, but he looks like him.
"Yeah, it's me."
He even sounds like Ty. I shield the entrance way, but not in a way that makes it seem like I am.
"What are you doing here? How'd you get out of the..."
"They let me out." He shrugs, and I know he's lying. They wouldn't just let him out and not tell me.
"Come on in." I say. I'd rather find out who this is inside, instead of where the entire army is a witness. I don't want people thinking I'm interrogating Ty.
He does, and I shut the door.
"Nice place." He says. "Too bad I never got to see it."
There. I barely caught it, but it was definitely there. Anger. It was disguised under a harmless comment, but I could hear it in the stranger's voice. Ty told me himself that he wasn't mad about me not being able to reach him. And that's exactly what the stranger is.
"Yeah." I say, rubbing my arm nervously. "I'll be right back." I say, headed for the weapons room.
And that's when I see it.
