Quentin's POV

We walked back to the house from training as a group, Jerome, Mitch, Ssundee, Jason and I. Jerome seemed to have gotten Mitch's spirits back up, but Jason looked a little crestfallen. I wondered why, but I wasn't going to ask.

I pushed open the door, and smiled when I saw Sky sitting in a chair, looking over a map of the ocean, or, as it was to us, a battleground.

"Hey, Sky." He jumped a little as I spoke, but then smiled and waved as he saw us come in.

"Hey, guys." He got up from his chair, and I couldn't help but notice that he walked with a tiny bit of a limp towards us.

"What's up with your leg?" Jerome voiced the question we were all thinking.

Sky looked a little nervous when he spoke. "Yeah, about that....stuff went down when you guys were gone."

That sentence got all of our attention.

"What happened?" Jason asked.

"It's a really long story." Sky answered.

"We've got time." said Mitch.

"Ugh, this is a story that took up over a thousand words a few chapters ago, but here goes."

I'm not even gonna say anything.

*one really long explanation later*

My jaw hung open. That was one Nether of a story.

"So...we've got ourselves another enemy?" Jason asked.

"As if we needed another one of those." Mitch muttered.

"Yeah. And I don't think this guy's going to be easier than taking down the squids." Sky answered.

"Taking down the squids is easy compared to this guy?" Jerome asked, with a shocked look on his face. "Come on, we have have an army!"

"Yes, but he has a Darklox." Sky said. "At least, that's what Ty calls him."

"Where is Ty, anyway?" I asked.

"He's in his room." Sky answered. "Checking out the place."

"I'll be right back." I said, and walked upstairs to Ty's room, while the others kept asking Sky questions.

I knocked on the door. "Ty? You in there?"

The door opened up a crack, and I saw Ty's face peek out from behind it.

"Quentin? I didn't know you guys were back yet."

He had changed since I knew him as a kid, and he looked a lot healthier then when I saw him on the beach.. His hair had gotten a little longer, and his voice didn't sound as kiddish. He looked older, and like he had seen some crap that no one should ever have to see.

"Yeah, we're back. Sky told us everything."

He looked down at the floor. "You mean he told you how I almost killed him?"

I was taken aback for a second. "How can you blame yourself for that, Ty?"

"Oh, I don't know." Ty looked back up at me. "Maybe because I never told you about the danger you all were in from being around me? Or maybe it was the fact that I couldn't stop Darklox? Or maybe It was just the fact that he was there?"

I couldn't believe that Ty was blaming this all on himself. "It's not your fault. It's Darklox's."

He still looked upset. "Yeah, well when you wake up from a nightmare where you see your own hands nearly killing your best friend, come talk."

He started to shut the door, but I stopped it with my foot.

"Hey, listen, Ty." He stopped trying to shut the door. "I'm sorry that you had to witniss that, okay? I'm sorry we couldn't find the place that you were being held captive. But I promise you something, Ty. We will find Darklox. And when we do, we will slice his head off." I smiled. "Because that's what we do. We find the evil things that hurt people and we cut their heads off."

Ty looked up at me. "I just want one more thing."

"What?" I asked.

"When we do find him, I get the finishing blow."

I stopped for a second, then nodded. Who deserved it more than him? "You got it, Ty."
