(A/N: before the new chapter starts, I'd just like to give a SHOUTOUT to DemPenguins for making the new cover! :D)
WARNING: THIS MAY BRING OUT THE FEELS. DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE.
Mitch's POV (A/N: I've been doing a lot on Mitch lately, haven't I? Team Divergent, A Crafted Kind of Games, now this? I'VE GOT BENJA ON THE BRAIN FOR SOME REASON)
Now I know how Sky feels.
I always thought that my brother was dead. I finally accepted the thought when I was six. I knew Jerome then, and I guess having a friend like Jerome, who was basically another brother to me, helped me through it.
But now I know he's alive. And he's out on his own-scratch that, he's with the Brotato and that other girl, Hope-but he's somewhere that I'm not. Very possibly being hurt.
And even if I could, I'd more than likely get lost if I went out of the base. Being a member of the actual Team makes me a bigger target then being a recruit. It's more dangerous for me.
Yep. Definitely know how Sky feels.
I can't even be there to help my little brother, couldn't even find him. Brotato did. Not me.
On the brighter side, he's alive. He's alive and he's coming back to the base.
I get to see my little brother again for the first time in ten years.
I lift the lid of one of my chests in my room, it's hidden behind a red block on my wall.
Inside is my stuff from when I was little. An old plush sword that couldn't kill a fly that I used when me and my old friends would "practice" fighting. My first practice bow (A/N: dang this kid was exposed to a lot of weapons XD), and two photos. One is of me, my mom, and Shane, all in front of our old house. I have another copy of it where Sky photo bombed us by sneaking up behind me and giving me bunny ears with his fingers.
I shut the lid again, finished with looking at my memories.
I get to see my brother in a month.
Sky's POV
I'm in my room at one in the afternoon, getting my sulk on. I don't know why, but sulking makes me feel a lot better about things.
I stare at the wall ahead of me, that has a picture of me and the rest of my old friends in the village.
"Never forget your past. If you forget your past, you won't know how to handle your future." Words, my mom's words, come into my head. (A/N: I actually made this up on the spot, but I think it's true :P)
I've kept most of what my mom said to me close to heart. She always seemed to have the answer.
That's why I keep the picture, a reminder of my past, near me. I refuse to forget my past, because I know my mom was right. And I'm in no position to not know how to handle the future.
Sometimes I wonder if she's proud of me. Sure, I've done good things, but I've also done bad.
Accidentally starting a war. Causing the death of hundreds of players in battle.
Letting Ty out of my sight, on that one day seven years ago.....
I shake my head. My mom would want me to focus. And I can't focus on getting Ty back if I'm beating myself up about losing him in the first place.
"The biggest monster you'll ever face is you. You have to beat it, but you can't destroy yourself in the process." More of my mom's words. I smile a little.
Maybe my mom has been sharing her strength with me.
I look out the window, where I expect to see millions of people training, but instead, I see everyone running to the beach on the other side of the grounds.
A huge crowd is gathered around the beach, close to the ocean.
My smile disappears.
I run out the door, and towards the beach.
-------le time skip cuz the beach is far away --------------
What's going on? Was someone hurt? Are we being pulled into another battle?
My thoughts tumble around in my brain as I race toward the crowd.
I have to push through the silent crowd to get to the front, and before long, I see the familiar faces of my friends.
"Guys!" I call, and they all turn and look at me. I falter a little at their shocked expressions.
"What's going o-"
And then I see it.
There's a body at the edge of the ocean.
Everyone has backed away at least five feet.
I'm about to scream, "Someone get help!" Before I notice something else, too. Something that sends a chill up my spine.
White shirt with a black collar, gray jeans, ripped and bloodstained in places. Black shoes. Messy brown hair that still covers one eye. Something that wasn't there before, a black bracelet on each wrist.
And headphones, with the green glowing parts smashed.
.......Ty.
