Ty's POV
I start to swim to the surface, my lungs bursting. I've been underwater too long.
My head breaks through the surface, and I gasp, my lungs filling up with air again.
I am greeted with chaos. Arrows are flying through the air, and everyone is frantically dodging them.
Shelby's close, and her face is streaked with tears. No matter where she moves, her eyes are staring at the same place.
I have a feeling I know what she's looking at, but I don't want to look. I'm sure Quentin would try and get Brotato out, but he's busy avoiding arrows.
I duck as an arrow flies towards me, and it just grazes the top of my head, but doesn't cut me.
Sky's right next to me, and he dodges another arrow. "What do you have in your hand? You're bleeding." He says, jumping to the side to avoid another arrow.
I look down at my hand. I was clutching the broken shards of my headphones so tightly, they cut into my hand in multiple places.
"It's my old headphones." I say, and his eyes widen.
"Will they still work?"
"I have no idea, but we're going to have to try." I say. "You get the others to distract him, I'll get...I don't know, Mitch, and we'll sneak up behind him and..."
"And what?" He asks.
"And do anything that'll stop him." I say.
"But, Ty-" He's cut off when an arrow flies past his arm, cutting it. He curses, and turns to look at me. "Fine. Go."
He must've realized that we can't keep this up forever.
I nod, and he swims off towards the others, telling them something. Mitch nods, and comes to join me.
"You got a plan?" He asks.
"If they can pull off a decent distraction, yeah, I think so." I answer.
"Hey!" Ssundee yells, along with a name that I really shouldn't say.
Darklox turns, and grins. "I remember you, Ssundee. You're the boy with the...issues."
Ssundee frowns.
"You'll be happy to know that your one theory was right, the one about those idiot squids controlling you?"
The color drains from Ssundee's face.
"It was simple redstone, really. Did you know that there's redstone in your brain?" Darklox smirks.
"He's just messing with you, Ssundee." Jerome says.
This is a decent distraction. Slowly, so not to attract attention, I start to move towards the pillar so I can get behind it. I signal to Mitch to follow me, and thank Notch, he does.
"You think I'm just messing with you?" Darklox laughs. "If I was just messing with you, could I have worked out the redstone so it goes off in 3..."
We're almost at the pillar.
"2..."
Jason and Sky understand what's about to happen, and together they hold Ssundee back so he can't do anything. Ssundee doesn't object, so I guess he knows what's about to happen.
We're at the pillar.
"1..."
Mitch tosses me some blocks, and we start building our way up.
"Boom." Darklox grins, and then the weirdest thing happens.
Rose starts freaking out, and Ssundee doesn't do anything out of the ordinary.
Jason and Sky don't ask questions, they just let go of Ssundee and try to get to Rose, but she's got a sword in her hand, and surprise on her side.
"Yeah. Apparently, Rose was in the same sticky situation as Ssundee over there, they just never bothered to use it on her." Darklox laughs, as everyone tries to get her back under control.
We're at the top. Together, we sneak up behind Darklox, who's busy watching the chaos below unfold.
Rose is trying to attack Jason, but he's to quick for her with his jet pack, and the others keep blocking her. They're not trying to hurt her, but it looks like Rose thinks they are. And if she's intent on hurting them, and they aren't...
This is bad.
Mitch looks at me, and we both nod at the same time.
"You know, I think it might just be 'game over' for you!" Darklox taunts.
Together, Mitch and I stab our swords into Darklox's back. He gasps, and falls over.
"Actually," I smile. "I think it's 'game over' for you."
"You." He says through gritted teeth.
"Yeah. Me." I say, and take out the broken shards of emerald.
Since they worked as headphones, I can only think of one thing that might work now, even though it sounds incredibly stupid.
I cover both of his ears with the sharp shards, and he screams.
There's a sudden flash of light that makes me squeeze my eyes shut, and when the light dies down, Shane's on the ground.
I look down at the emerald shards in my hands, and there's a slight red glow to them.
We did it.
He's trapped.
Hopefully for good this time.
"Shane?" Mitch shakes his arm, but he doesn't respond.
"Shane?" His voice is more frantic now.
"Mitch, he's..."
"Don't you dare tell me he's dead. He's not dead because of me. Not again." Mitch says.
"What do you want me to tell you?" I ask him. "I'm sorry, Mitch. I really am. But what else could we do?"
"I don't know!" He yells, and sinks to his knees. "But, he's dead again. Because of me."
I don't have any idea what to say to that.
I look over at my friends, thinking that we're going to have to jump down and help them to get Rose back, but when I see them, Rose is unconscious and being held up by Jason so she doesn't, you know, drown.
"Mitch, come on. We all have to get back to the base."
Mitch opens his mouth to say something, but then he just nods, looking away from Shane.
We both jump off of the edge into the water below, meeting our friends as we come up to the surface.
"You did it?" Sky asks, and I hold out the shards of emerald. "I'll take that as a yes." He smiles.
"Okay, if no one else is gonna say it, I will." Jerome says with a smile. "CELEBRATORY GROUP HUG!"
We all look at each other and shrug.
And then we're all hugging each other like weirdos, because hey, why not?
"Let's get out of this freaking ocean." Darkclaw says, and we all agree and start travelling to the base.

AND THUS ENDS DARKLOX
(but don't worry, the story's not over yet. :P)
