.Prologue.

.Blaine.

Feet kicked back on the desk in front of me, my warm coffee cup in one hand and today's newspaper in the other, I was sitting in my personal office located in my fathers building.

      I was working today.

Everything else was quiet, except my secretaries phone going off every second outside my door.

I took a sip of coffee, accidentally dripping it onto my new blue button down shirt. The tie was chocking me at the collar and I loosened it up and tried to wipe the stain off. I was twenty-one years old, and running my fathers company all on my own.

"Sir," My Secretary said over the over call on my office phone. "Adam Curry is on line one."

I sat up in my chair and stared at the phone. My arm reached across the desk and pushed the button to reply.

"Thank you, Levi." I said and then dialed one. "Hello?"

"Hey! How are you doing, boy?" Adam said over the phone.

"I'm good, yourself?" I asked, kicking back my legs once again.

"Well, I'm doing good." He paused. A few minutes of silence went by and I puffed a cigarette. "I actually need you to do something for me."

"What's that?" I asked. It was rare of him to call, I wondered what he wanted.

"I need you to watch my daughter, Blaine."
