.Chapter Twenty-Four.

After getting into the car with Sam, I was greeted by a shaggy-haired guy named Ronald (who was driving the SUV), and a girl who wore gobs of makeup, had long thick blonde hair, her name was Jem.

"So, we' need to pick up two more people," Sam mentioned while Ronald was driving down an unfamiliar road. I stared out the window, while Jem and Sam made conversation, and Ronald stared at the road in front of him. My head rested on my arm and I started to feel a little sleepy. Not getting any sleep last night made me feel like a zombie. I decided to close my eyes for a little bit but then woke up when my body jerked forward because of the sudden stop of the SUV.

"Jeez! Are you trying to kill us!?" Jem exclaimed, leaning forward in the seat and punching Ronald in the arm. It looked like it could have caused a bruise, but he tried to put on a straight face. The door to the car opened and I was suddenly pushed to the middle of the seat.

"Excuse me, I'll sit in the back with the ladies, then," a blonde hair guy said, squeezing into the seat beside me and I awkwardly fixed my hair. "Oh, hi." His hand ran through his hair, it kind of reminded me of Blaine, but he didn't have blue eyes. Instead, he had really dark green.

"Hi," I said quietly. His arm was suddenly on the seat behind me, as if he was trying to cuddle me or something. I couldn't say anything, I might seem rude, but then I saw he flicked Jem and pulled his arm back.

"Stop it, Reilly!" Jem snapped at him, "Get in the back seat! You are crushing the three of us!" Reilly laughed and put his hands behind his head.

"But I like it up here," he chuckled. I saw Ronald rub his face with his hand, then I looked to the other person who had gotten into the car, another guy. While Jem argued with Reilly, I looked over the guy in the front seat, he was quiet, calm, and wore glasses. He had short trimmed hair and wore cloths that looked like they didn't fit him.

Sam suddenly made Jem sit with her back to the seat and hissed for everyone to be quiet, "Stop! Jesus you people are scarring Ayame!" Everyone was suddenly looking at me, I ducked my head.

"Oh, so that's your name," Riley smiled. I nodded my head slowly.

"Um, no. It's okay, I'm fine," I laughed it off. Sam held a disappointed face.

"I'm sorry, Ayame. Everyone is just noisy," Sam said. I looked at her and smiled in reassurance.

"Trust me, it's okay. I've missed this, hanging out with friends, you don't have to act formal just because I'm here."

        "Are you sure?"

"I am," I said. Sam sat back too and sighed, crossing her arms annoyingly. Then Ronald spoke.

"Um," Ronald started, "you already know my name and Jem's, but this is Reilly and James." He pointed to the boy who got in. I smiled at them in greeting, Reilly smiled back, but James turned back around and stared out the window.

"Don't take it personally, James gets shy around new people," Reilly said. I sighed and continued to smile.

"It's fine, I understand," and that was the end of it. The SUV started up again and Ronald drove us to the mall. The whole time, no one spoke except Jem and Reilly. They must have been boyfriend and girlfriend, I felt bad for sitting in between them. I silently prayed for this to just end, since I was already missing being home. Especially since I left Blaine like I did when we were arguing before. I felt like it wasn't solved. He was twenty-one, I was seventeen, I wanted to learn what having a relationship was about.

We arrived at the mall about thirty minutes later. It was a mad house in the mall but we all decided to go see a movie and hopefully the crowed mall will clear up. Then, after spending ten minutes just to decide what movie everyone wanted to see, we ended up picking a romantic movie.

"Yes!" Jem squealed out of joy. Ronald and the other guys looked disappointed, Sam and I didn't care. Sam grabbed my hand after getting the tickets for everyone and led me into the movie.

"This is going to be so much fun seeing a movie with you!" She said. As I was led by the hand, the others followed behind me. I felt more like a high scholar now, I wasn't stressed about anything, more like I was having fun. We walked into the large and open movie theater and grabbed some seats in the very back.

"Thank God! I was going to throw a fit if the back seats weren't open!" Jem sighed and sat down in the chair dramatically.

"You would," Reilly snickered. Jem punched him two times. What a violent girl. I could never do that to a guy, but then I remembered all the things I have done to Blaine, and shrank down in the seat. Sam eyed me in question, but didn't say anything. While the ads were playing on the big screen, it was cold, and I pulled my jacket that I had brought along over myself. Everyone else talked while I stared at the screen. Suddenly, I saw an outline of what I believe was my worst nightmare. Sam and Ronald were sitting on either sides of me and I tried to look away from the people who had just walked into the movie theater. Just needed to act normal and not be noticed. Sam looked at me again.

"What it it?" She finally asked, looking over my pale face.

"Why did it have to be this movie theater and this day?" I mumbled. She looked confused.

"What are you-" She went quiet as soon as her gaze caught on to what I was worried about, "oh." I hid my face with my hands. This was bad. Why did Zach and his girlfriend have to be here?
