NIGHTINGALE

I couldn't go to sleep at this late hour.
Anxiety chained me up with my scar.

I'm awake and my mind was confused.
I hoped someone could stitch my bruise.

Because I simply need a voice to echo.
For I was the princess without a hero.

I wished for a light could take me home,
away from the dark that deeply roams.

I need a guide star that I could follow.
A place where my lost soul could glow.

I never see the forest for the trees.
But I could really use your melody.

I was blind without a clear sight to see.
It's the perfect time for you to find me.

I need you to sing for me to sleep.
You were better than counting sheep.

Honey you could be my beautiful sanity,
bringing me peace with a light fantasy.

You were like a whisper come through,
I don't know what I'd do without you.

As long as you're here with me tonight.
You could shine my world with a bright.

You're words are like a sweet lullaby.
You lifted me up high, I couldn't deny.

You're close and I know you're there.
Could you be my nightingale?
