Chapter 10

*Chrissy's PoV*
"You ready?" Asked Dan.
I sighed. Honestly I am not ready. At all. But Dan and I have been working so hard for this moment.
The moment of truth.
No more Queen for now... Or never. Kate. I hope you are there to catch me from this fall.
"Let's roll!" I screamed as I made my lucky two jumps before any show.
"Holy shit girl you are taking this seriously." Commented Dan with a laugh.
"I wouldn't have rehearsed for two weeks for something that I wouldn't take seriously." I said tying my lucky boots.
Those were the little things that convinced me to change. Dan noticed my jumps, Dan is a true friend. Not like my team at school, he knows me. The real me.
The one I must show the world.
I knocked on the Principal's door. He opened with a wide smile.
"Is it lunchtime already?" He asked.
I nodded.
He let me in his office and Dan came behind me.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked.
"Yes."
"Okay... Do you have your track?"
"Actually... we were thinking about something more... Acoustic?" Said Dan as he opened his guitar case.
"Ohh... I understand." Said the teacher. "Would you like an amplifier?"
"Yes please." We replied.
"Okay... Take whatever you need from the music hall. In fifteen minutes everything should be in place."
"Great. Thank you coach."
"Say hi to your girl when everything is done." The Principal waved us as we went away.
Fifteen minutes for everything to end.
Kate. This is for you.

The lunchtime bell rang and everyone went towards the cafeteria to get food.

I took a deep breath. Two lucky jumps.

"Showtime" I whispered.
"Break a leg Chrissy." Dan gave me a pat on my shoulder before entering the cafeteria.

*Kate's PoV*
"Kate! You gonna eat that?" Asked Soph pointing at my chicken salad.
"Yes. She will." Answered Nix.
"I'm not hungry Soph... You can have it." I said.
Two fucking weeks eating almost nothing... It's not like if I am like... Depressed or something... I just... miss her.
Why must everything be so hard with her?! If she wants me to trust her, she should fucking do something else than disappearing. She always runs away. She makes me feel and hope for a future with her... But she runs away every time her fucking crown gets in the way. I can't get over the fact that she doesn't love me like her image.
I wish I could just go and tell her everything... Kiss her like it matters. Like... It meant something for her.
"Guys. Isn't he the guitarist from the band?" Asked Jey pointing at the stage the school built at the cafeteria last year.
"He is... What is he planning?" Asked Tergel.
We heard a guitar being plugged to an amplifier. And the sound of a microphone being turned on. 
Then. It started.
The Queen got on stage.
"Hello? This may sound weird but I'm here to... Do something crazy... K... This is for you." She spoke in the mic.
Then. The world froze. 
I started feeling my heart beat as fast as a mouse's heart as I saw my friends look at me in pure shock.
I don't know what's up with her either don't blame me.
My sight went to the table where she always sat. With their friends. Our bullies. Where she belongs.
Their faces where also white from shock. They weren't expecting this either. Not even Jen, her cousin.
As I gave her a second look... I noticed something else in Jen's stare... Pride? Is this... That moment I've dreamed of this past weeks?!?
Wait... SHE SAID THAT WHATEVER COMES NEXT IS FOR ME. Holy shit what is happening?!
Then. Dan started playing a soft melody on his guitar, by now every single head inside this place was looking at her.
The Queen.
My Queen.
Then she started singing. In that second time went back on track. But my heart was going so fast... I can't understand how I'm still alive.

I started crying. This is really happening.

Her voice is unique. If her voice is the only thing I could hear... I wouldn't mind. I wish this moment would last forever. I stood up still crying and started walking to the stage.

I climbed each of the steps looking straight in her eyes. She sang the last verse meeting me in the center of the stage. Looking straight into my eyes. I felt my heart stop when she took my hand.
Dan stopped playing and the song ended.
But the magic was still there.
"This is truly me K. I'm sorry it took me this long." She let a tear fall.
I put my hand on her cheek and smiled.
"Don't run away this time. Okay?"
"The Queen has left the crown..." She said before hugging me.
I knew her embrace was something I was missing without knowing. But I was sure that now that I have it I won't let it go that easily. I'm with her now and it is all that matters.
She chose me and it's all that matters.
"K... Would you... Go on a date with me?" She asked.
"Sure. But I only date Chrissy... NOT The Queen" I declared.
"The Queen is dead. Date me and you'll know."
"Sure. Give me your phone." I said.
She gave me her phone and I put my phone number in her contacts before returning it to her. She looked at the screen and smiled.
"Just K?"
"That's how you met me so why not?"
Then... She put her phone back in her pocket... And...
She leaned in.
I closed the space.
We kissed.
And everyone cheered.

That's it. Chrissy Costanza is finished.
