ch. 11 ; cancel the flowers

Jade

"jax?" i questioned.

"hey, you haven't texted back yet. i didn't want to text again and bother you. but i saw you here and i was like, might as well say hi," he flashed his white teeth to me.

he was very attractive and it's more apparent in a well lit, non drunk state. he had a sharp jawline. sharper than matt's. his skin was toned.

"sorry, i've been busy," i apologized.

"no need to apologize, it was nice seeing you," jax said starting to get up.

"wait jax," i stopped him.

"maybe we could meet up sometime. soon," am i asking him on a date?

"i would love that, you know my nu-"

"hey jade! jax, funny seeing you here," matt appeared out of nowhere, clenching his jaw.

"yeah, um i was just grabbing coffee with my mom," jax replies uncomfortably while pointing to his mom who is on the phone.

"maybe, you should actually go get coffee with your mom instead of ditching her," matt replies with a smirk on his face.

ditching her?? matt, she's ten feet away.

"yeah, sure. i'll talk to you later, jade," jax winks at me while getting up to go back to his mother.

"matt, what was that?" i whisper yelled at him.

i was not going to cause a scene in starbucks. not for him.

dylan came back with two coffees and a bagel, surprised to see matt.

"oh hey little brother!" dylan exclaimed not realizing the tension between us.

"i'm not little, anymore," matt whined like a child.

you sure aren't, matt. i mean-

"well, uh, do you want to joi-," dylan was flickering his eyes between matt and myself.

"he can't. he's busy," i butted in.

"i never said that, babygirl," i instantly threw a death glare at him.

babygirl? most disgusting name in the book.

"let's go, dylan. we have places to go," i said dragging him by the hand, hoping he wouldn't spill our coffees.

Matthew

of course, she really isn't over that kiss. i'm gonna need to do something else that will make her fall in love with me. i glanced over at my friends who were just laughing as johnson tried to balance a plastic straw on his nose. i smiled to myself and walked out the door.

what the fuck do girls like? i'm so used to flirting a bit and banging them. jade is so stubborn.

i was currently at the florist trying to pick out a bouquet of flowers for her. what if she's allergic? does she even like flowers?

suddenly, i heard somebody tap my shoulder. i whipped around to see cameron behind me.

"dude, you scared me!" i gasped putting my hand over my heart.

"sorry matthew, what ya doing here?" he asked picking up a rose from my hand and swiveling it between his fingers, examining it.

"none of your business," i responded, taking the rose back.

"i'm going to get her first, matthew. might as well call out, now," he shrugged cockily.
