ch. 7 ; matthew

"when will i actually get to enjoy my winter break?" i asked kristen.

"when our siblings are finally happy, don't be selfish," ryan replied to me.

"we've been conspiring to get matthew and jade together for two days, they are going to catch on after a week," dylan backed me up.

"we're not done until they make up," kristen announced stopping at the park.

"we always take this trail, kristen," ryan complained.

"theo hasn't yet!" she argued back.

we were halfway on the trail thinking of plans to get matthew and jade to make up.

"jade is way too stubborn to forgive him," i spoke up declining the plan we were talking about.

"matthew is too much of a douche. i don't think jade likes that," dylan replied.

"nobody likes a douche, dumbo. it's just a phase though, you guys need to fix our little brother," kristen responded smacking dylan at the back of his head.

"let's take this a step farther," ryan suddenly spoke.

"what do you mean?" i asked.

"let's make them fall in love," ryan said.

"ryan, are you fucking stupid? you can't force people to fall in love!" dylan said staring at ryan like he was stupidest person here.

"that's impossible, just because jade liked him at 14 doesn't mean she still does. besides, they're different now. and what makes you think we can make them fall in love, if we can't even make them become friends," i agreed with dylan.

"they both like each other still, i bet. those two used to be inseparable," kristen spoke up.

"they just need more time alone. and jade needs to drop this grudge of hers," dylan said.

"so what do we do first?" i stopped walking.

"set them up on a date," ryan smiled stopping with us.

so we decided, we as the kids would all go to dinner with matthew and jade. but we would all have our own excuses for leaving them. kristen will say she has to go to the bathroom, but really she's leaving, dylan has to comfort his girlfriend, ryan is feeling sick, and i will get my wallet from my car and never return.

"i think it's perfect," kristen says in awe of our plan, unlocking her car.

"i agree," i said as we all hopped back into her car driving back home.

our parents agreed to let us go to dinner by ourselves. matthew didn't look like he cared honestly. jade looked a bit mad with us, but i'm helping her, so she needs to chill. we all piled into kristen's and matthew's car and made our way to olive garden. after ordering drinks, and our food, we began making our excuses.

"i have to use the bathroom," kristen started and left her chair carrying her bag.

five minutes later was dylan. he pretended to get a text from his girlfriend.

"guys, isabel needs me! i gotta go," he grabbed his jacket and rushed out.

"i feel a little sick," ryan said shortly before he left covering his mouth.
