04. Oregon, a week after that, 07:00

"Reey!!"

Under the pink My Lil Pony blanket, someone still breathed calmly even when a threatening voice thundered for the fourth time over the blaring alarm. The curtain slightly ajar, and the raising sun drew patches of light over the wooden floor.

When nothing happened, a series of impatient footsteps ran to the second story.

"REY! YOU'RE LATE!"

The door slammed open and then the curtain opened with a loud sudden screech. The sweet smell of white roses rushed in, brought by the fresh morning breeze. The sunlight flooded all over the exposed red brick wall that has a really big Rainbow Dash poster.

"Damn it the Rose on the window scratch my finger."

Slapping the alarm off, the man cursed as he rubbed his finger and pulled the blanket. But a couple of pale, skinny hands, pulled it back.

"Fibe morn menet pa,"

A girl's voice mumbled under the blanket.

Her Pa sighed but then grinned when he collected power inside his hand, and suddenly a small crackle of lightning gathered inside his hovering fingers.

"OW! PA!"

The blanket flew open and a fourteen years old girl sat down and squinted her eyes in anger. Her electric blue eyes met with a stern face. Without words, her father pointed the alarm with his muscular hand. It was 7.00.

"Oh shit."

Her bob hair sway as the skinny pale girl scrambled to the small shower room beside the bed, pushing her father in the process.

"Watch it, and THE SWEAR WORD!"

The blue haired girl kicked off her 'my little pony' PJ and threw them everywhere as she rushed to enter the shower.

Her brown-headed father strode outside the room, closed the door at the upper part of the stairs and shook his head at her daughter's carelessness. He stroked his hair as he lay his eyes on the room below. The red brick exposed small kitchen-dining room with wooden floor.

Walking down, his feet thud rhythmically as he stepped down the wooden stairs. Stopping in the middle of the flight, Pa suddenly absorbed in the picture over the exposed brick wall. His finger traced the picture of that beautiful young woman and sighed, his eyes full of longing.

"It's ten years already...I still miss you. Maybe ... our child would be different if you were still around."

His curly brown head spun to the door downstairs. A woman just entered, bringing a big paper bag full of freshly baked bread, her super curly hair bounced as she entered.

The thirty-year-oldish woman said cheerfully, "Hi Ronnie!"

She breathed in to calmed down her thumping heart, as she saw the man. He surely a bit older than her, but even when sadness has molded his eyes in wrinkles, he still as handsome as hell for her.

"Wow, it smells so good" Ronnie raked his brown hair and jumped out from the stairs to help Jenna with her bag.

Jenna smiled, a bit blush appeared on her heavily tanned cheek as she gave the sweet smelling paper bag to two Ronnie's bronze hand. His electrical blue eyes warmed as he smiled back and put the bag on the wooden kitchen table when a sound of thumping feet stormed down the stairs.

"Oy Rey, careful, you could bring the house down!" His dad grinned.

"Ooh it smells soo good here" Rey sniffed the air as she ran down and slid at the railing at the middle of the flight.
