We Meet Again

The Wedding

It's been a hectic few months.

Planning and preparing.

But I had Adam by my side so I'm fine.

I stand there, at the mirror, looking at myself.

I smooth it down.

Just so that the nervousness goes away with the invisible dust I'm wiping away.

I hear a knock at the door.

Grandma: "Sweetheart? It's me, Grandma."

Y/n: "Come in!"

She opens the door and when she looks at me, I see tears of joy streaming down her face.

Y/n: "Grandma, don't cry, you'll make me cry."

Grandma: "Sorry, sorry. It's just, you look so beautiful."

She comes up to me and hugs me. I hug her back tightly.

Grandma: "Your parents would be so happy and proud of you."

I exhale a little laugh as little tears make there way down my face. She wipes my tears away with her thumbs.

Y/n: "Let's go."

She nods and leaves. My Grandpa waiting at the doorway.

Grandpa: "You look beautiful."

I smile.

As the people rise up, I look across and see Adam.

His face filled with shock and surprise.

I suck in a breath.

As I look at him, I feel all of my nervousness ooze away.

I smile and as I stop and I give my Grandpa a kiss on his cheek.

He looks at me with teary eyes and says

Grandpa: "You should know, your dad and mom are here. Watching you. You know that right?"

I nod. He says ok and gives my hand a little squeeze and lets go.

I smile and head to Adam.

We say our vows.

As we say 'I do' I look into his eyes and I see my love for him reflect in his eyes.

He loves me.

I love him.

As we lean in, all I know is this.

He is the only thing that I can see, I can feel, I can have.

He's my everything.

As our lips collide, no one's there. It was just us.

As the sound of claps and cheers bring me back to reality, we slowly let go.
