I stood next to Rin at his fathers grave.
"You didn't have to come you know." He said to me.
"I know, I just want to pay my respects." I said to him, looking him in the eye. He have me a whole hearted smile.
"Let's go." Rin said.
"Aye sir!" I said jumping up in the air.
-----------
When we got there I got ready for my freestyle. Rin said he had to meet someone. I was guessing it was Haruka.
I didn't follow him because I had to get ready for my race. I was sitting on the bleachers with my swimsuit ready to go, so I could run down as soon as Rin had won his race.
I had faith that Rin would win his trace against Haruka. Them maybe he wouldn't be as grumpy all of the time. I watched Rin and Haruka step up into the blocks.
"Ready." The announcer said.
"Set."
"Go!"
Then everyone went flying off the blocks and diving into the water. Haruka was having a slight lead on Rin but I knew Rin could close the gap. Now he is pulling ahead of Haruka. Now they were entering the turn.
"Go Rin Go! Beat him!" I yelled. Rin made it off the wall before Haruka did and was in the lead. But Haruka was catching up. I could hear familiar voices shout for Haruka to win.
I looked over and saw the Iwatobi swim club. I couldn't worry about them now. I had to see Rin win.
"Go Rin!" I shouted
"Go Sempai!" Nitori yelled besides me. They then got to the wall. Rin won!
"Rin! You did it!" I yelled.
"Way to go Sempai!" Nitori yelled. Rin looked over to us and gave us a big smile. I waved at him in return. I looks over and saw Rin also advanced!
"Yes!" Rin shouted.
"Way to go, Matsuoka!" The whole team shouted including me. Rin then was standing infront of Haruka. I couldn't tell what he was saying. But Haruka looks shocked.
I then got off of the bleachers and went down for my event. I was in the last heat of all of my events and in the end lanes.
That put me at a slight disadvantage because of the waves, but that didn't bother me at all. Because I knew I was fast, that's all the confidence I needed.
I waited for my heat to come up. People had pretty fast times, But all of them were below my best.
My heat was up then. I hopped on the block and put my goggles over my eyes.
"Ready." The announcer said.
I positioned my feet.
"Set."
I got into my position for my dive.
"Go!"
I then dived into the friged water. I used my dolphin kick to get as far as I could under the water.
I then felt water get off my back as I broke the surface.
"Swim Hibiki!" I could hear my teammates cheer for me. I went faster.
"Go Hibiki!" I heard a familiar voice say. It was Rin. I went even faster.
"Go, go go go go go Hibiki!" I heard familiar voices cheer.
But, why were they cheering? I wasn't even on their team anymore. But, for some reason. It made me want to go faster.
I flipped off of the wall and made my way down the pool again, going as fast as I can.
The wall was getting closer and closer. I couldn't see anyone infront of me. I then touched the wall an popped up, taking a breath.
I looked up at the board and saw I had gotten first.
"Yes!" I said jumping in the water as everyone else finished Then it shows that I had the fastest time out of everybody.
How was that even possible?
I couldn't have been that fast. Couldn't I?
