Team NEGL (Fairy Tail x RWBY)

Chapter 29- A choice to make...

After fully amending what was broken, Gray bid Lyon a goodbye, remembering the promise he made before he left.

FLASHBACK- A FEW MINUTES AGO

"To think, I was beaten by someone like you..." Lyon distastefully said, looking down on the floor with dismay on his face.

"Lyon..." Gray said, looking down at his previous surrogate brother.

"... Ur died, so you'd prosper?"

"Yes. She saw something in me that I couldn't, and so I'm gonna ensure I live up to her expectations..."

Lyon didn't respond to that. Instead, he got up slowly, still staring downwards, never raising his face.

"... I've decided what I shall do..."

Gray raised his eyebrows in surprised. He expected some kind of hateful comment or aggressive insult, yet he was about it receive something far beyond his expectations.

"I WILL become stronger. I will be strong enough to defend those I hold dear in my heart, and not only officially surpass Ur, but you as well."

Lyon finally raised his head, revealing a small smile of acceptance, and holding his hand out to Gray. Understanding what he meant, Gray took his hand into a handshake, sealing the agreement to once again become rivals beyond anything the world has ever seen.

END FLASHBACK

With all of this finally settled, Port and Oobleck decided to say one last word for the day.

"Aaand that's the end of the doubles rounds of the Vytal tournament folks!" Port opened.

"Indeed Peter! You will all have to now contain yourselves for the single rounds happening tomorrow! So ensure to register a seat AND... bring an extra large bucket of popcorn!" Oobleck added.

Everyone roared in anticipation at this. From the fights presented by teams such as RWBY, JNPR, and especially NEGL, they couldn't help but yell in excitement at the events soon to come.

"Aw yeah! Now I'm TOTALLY FIRED UP!" Natsu yelled, spitting fire everywhere and causing some to lean away from him in the group of NEGL, RWBY and JNPR.

"I wonder who we'll have to face..." Lucy thought out loud, curious about what was to come next.

"We might face someone from Mercury and Emerald's team." Ruby suggested, thinking about their ferocity and lack of restraint shown against Team CFVY.

"We might even face Team SSSN." Ren said, thinking about how they were also gonna be in the finals.

"We might even be faced with teams that we've never actually thought about." Erza added, bringing up the point that there are still a lot of teams that made it they don't know of.

"Probably someone from teams probably equal to us, like those guys from Team MDKB, what were their names... Meliodas and Ban...?" Gray said.

(I decided to include this because I luv the Seven Deadly Sins and people are really liking my other story 'The Sins of Fairies', so if you don't like it, I'll have to call Escanor over and repeat the whole 'Estarossa in Lake Panaci' scene, because I'm the one who shall decide!)

"Still, is there a possibility we might face one another due to the lack of opponents from other schools making it to the finals?" Weiss asked.

"(Psh) Nah! No... hopefully..." Ruby responded, sounding more fearful as she said each word.

(BEACON COURTYARD)

Natsu decided to do some solo wandering around the school before his big match tomorrow, to clear his head and allow himself to actually 'think' of some strategies against certain opponents.
