Team NEGL (Fairy Tail x RWBY)

Chapter 18- Hunters and Hunted Hunters

Natsu had huge bruise on his head, which was joined with a large bandage and ice pack due to Erza's incredible force on his skull.

"Professor Oobleck?" Weiss asked.

"Yes, I'm afraid those bags won't be necessary, children, seeing as you've opted to shadow a Huntsman on what is now essentially a reconnaissance mission. I can assure you, we will not be establishing a single base of operations; rather, we will be traversing several miles of hazardous wasteland and making camp in any defendable locations we may stumble upon. I packed all of our essentials myself, plotted our air course, and readied the airship. And..." The teacher said, in his usual fast pace before zooming towards Weiss.

"It's Doctor Oobleck. I didn't earn the PhD for fun, thank you very much!"

Everyone just looked at him with an expression of disturbed due to his nature, except for Natsu, who was trying to comfort his head with another ice pack.

"Uh..." Weiss and Lucy said..

"Come now, children, according to my schedule, we are already three minutes behind!" Oobleck announced, zooming towards the airship and shouting "Schedule!" At a distance.

Ruby looked up, exhaling a huge sigh before putting up her cheery demeanour again.

"Well, alright, then! Looks like we're going to save the world with Doctor Oooobleck- okay yeah when you say it out loud it sounds worse." She admitted, slumping her body forward.

"Yeah, it's like saying 'I was adopted by a human-eating fire-breathing lizard monster!'" Gray joked, earning a slap on the head by Natsu's tail.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR LIZARD LEGS?!"

"YOU KNOW DAMN WELL WHY, MAYBE YOU'RE TOO FLUENT IN STUPID!"

They butted heads like usual, and stared each other dead in the eye, only for Erza to snap their necks and separate them, making everyone else sweat drop.

"SAVE THE WORLD?!"

Team RWBY and NEGL turn around to see Nora approach them, along with the the rest of Team JNPR, as she was beginning to seemingly rant at them.

"You're going on world-saving missions without us? I'm hurt, sad, maybe a little hungry... that last one's not your fault through, Ren..." She exclaimed, turning to Ren in annoyance in her last sentence, who simply crossed his arms and looked away.

"Sounds exciting. Where ya going?" Jaune asked.

"Outside the kingdom..." Gray answered.

"Hey! So are we!" Nora replied, changing her pessimistic mood to ecstatic instantly.

"Ren and Nora wanted to shadow the sheriff of a nearby village..." Pyrrha explained.

"We set out tomorrow." Ren concluded.

"Then you can party with us tonight!" Said a new voice, which revealed itself to be Neptune walking with Sun to the three teams.

"We're shadowing a crime specialist. All inner-city detective stuff. We get junior badges..." He continued, earning an awestruck look from Jaune and Natsu.

"We normally go to the city with you guys, which means stuff's always exploding and junk, so we thought this might be a better way to check out the kingdom when it's, you know... normal." Sun explained.

"Aw, but it's always more fun when things are exploding!" Natsu complained, referring to all the times they've tangled with street crime and he was allowed to blow up stuff.

"FOUR minutes everyone!" Oobleck shouted from a distance, leaning out of the airship for a second before zipping back in.

"Well, wish us luck!" Natsu said, giving a thumbs up. Team RWBY and NEGL then walked to the docks to their airship, whilst Team JNPR and Team SSSN walked the other way back.
