Chapter 17- First Mission

"They were here... Ozpin they were here!" Ironwood shouted at Ozpin, as they, along with Glynda, were discussing the events that transpired yesterday night in Ozpin's office tower.

"We're very much aware of that, thank you James..." Glynda retorted.

"Fantastic! You're aware! Now are we going to do something about it or should we just stay the course and continue to ignore what's RIGHT in front of us?!" The General roared out sarcastically.

Before Ozpin could answer, a little 'ping' sound was heard by the elevator, which opened to reveal Ruby and Natsu in it. With Ozpin's permission they entered the room officially to join in the matter.

"Sorry it took so long. Natsu accidentally hit all the buttons on the way up here, (hehehe)..." Ruby nervously chuckled out, only to receive a grunt of shock from said Faunus teen.

"ME?! You hit a few buttons as well, and I'm sorry if my tail moves around so frequently that it hits delicate and flashy buttons!"

"Yeah but it was mostly you!"

Before their argument could continue any further, Ozpin coughed a loud cough, which caught the attention of the two and reminded them what was happening.

"(Ahem) Thank you for coming you two. How are you feeling?"

"Okay, I guess. I'd feel better if my bad-guy-catching record wasn't zero-for-three..." Ruby said with slight disappointment as she looked down.

"I'm kinda hungry, hadn't had breakfast yet..." Natsu lazily said, as he rubbed his grumbling stomach, earning a sigh of exhaustion from Glynda in the back.

Before they continued, the two then noticed the silence that filled the room, deciding to return to more important matters.

"Okay, so that's the tone we're going for, got it..." Ruby stated.

"... Ruby, Natsu, I feel it's appropriate to let you know that I think what you did last night is exactly what being Huntsmen is all about. You recognized a threat. You took action. And you did the very best you could..." Ironwood said, congratulating the two's uncommon bravery and awareness, making them smile a bit.

"Thank you." They said in sync.

"Now, the general here has already informed us of the events that... transpired last night, but now that you've rested, we were wondering if you had anything to add..." Ozpin began, with Glynda to continue for him.

"Was anyone else with her? Did she look familiar to you at all?"

"I... I don't know. She was wearing a mask, and she never said anything to me. But I know she fought with glass. I don't think that was her Semblance, though. Her clothing lit up whenever she attacked..." Ruby answered.

"Besides that, she had a specific scent of ash... along with great quality perfume, kinda made me feel fuzzy..." Natsu added, only to get stares of curiosity and weirdness at him, making him sweat drop in embarrassment.

"Her... scent?" Ironwood asked.

"Yeah, I've got great senses, so I was able to catch her own specific scent. That's the whole reason we managed to find her here in the first place."

"Save for the glass, that sounds like the woman I fought the night we met Ruby..." Glynda theorised.

"Embedding Dust into clothing is an age-old technique. It could have been anyone..." Ironwood added.

"Wait. You think this girl is connected to Torchwick and the White Fang?" Ruby asked in curiosity.

"It's possible. But we still lack the required evidence to link the two together..." Ozpin concluded.
