Alex's P.O.V

I stepped into the dingy apartement linving room/kitchen. My father greeted me at my bedroom door.

"Where were you?" he snarled,

"I was studying, with a.. friend," I said blushing,

"You were supossed to come home and pack, we're LEAVING TOMORROW YOU IDIOT!!!"

I bit my lip and looked t my feet. So that was what I forgot.

"I'll do it rght now then, where's oreo?" I asked,

"In you guys room! HURRY UP!"

I rushed into my sister's and my bedroom. It had a stripping ceiling and tacky flower wall paper. I looked at my quiet 12 year old sister sitting on the bottom bunk.

"Hey Oreo, " I said smiling at her softly, she grinned at me, showing her braces and her blue-green eyes sparkled, her black hair pulled back in her signiture pony tail.

"Hey Alex!" she squeaked, "Where were you?"

"Um..." I felt heat reach up to my cheeks,

"A girl, huh?" Oreo asked knowingly, unlike me, she's an expert at girls and boys relationships.

I blushed even harder looking at my feet. "Well, we probably should start packing up, " she smiled her adorable baby-faced smile and took up some books of hers and began stacking them.

Oh yea, minor detail, me and my "family" are going to move into a bigger house near the city. I guess I'll get my onwn room, but I would want to have Oreo with me so that my parents don't decide to kill her like the others. Well I think, I only survived because of my smarts and my anti-depression even though my sister was the only thing that really kept me going. While I digged through my stuff I came apon an old picture of my two of my late older siblings, Festus and Crimeria, both had black hair and blue eyes, they were twins. I heard Crimeria killed herself and Festus died in a car crash, but I'm not too sure, noone is. Except probably my parents.

I wrapped that picture in a dirty rag and set it in the front pocket of my bac pack. I hope to keep th-

"Alex, where did you get those clothes?" My mom was in the doorway of the bedroom, I looked at her my mouth a gape. Instead of the usual scowl, there was just tiredness, she had bagsa around her light brown eyes and her black hair was messy. she would have been a very pretty lady if not for the tiredness in her eyes.

"I-I" I sttutered,

"He got them at a sale when he was coming back because his clothes were soaked, " Oreo quickly said,

Mom just smiled a half smile and went to the living room/kitchen.

"Thank you, " I whispered to Oreo who just grinned and answered, "That's what siblings do, they fight and stand up for eachother,"

To ever think of it me and my sister Oreo have never faught. EVER. We've just helped eachother, I guess too much stress and worry to even think of the normal siblingship. Hm...

"Dinner!" Mom called, what she means is left over fries and a hamburger from Mc Donalds. Wow, yum. I stuffed most of my very little contents and followed Oreo out of the door. Let's have a nice normal family dinner. Not.
