MACHETE: Jason employs a variety of methods to kill his victims, but a razor-sharp machete is his weapon of choice. VOICE: Eerily silent, he never utters a word of explanation during any of the chilling murders he commits.
Jason Voorhees is a silent, unstoppable, killer who commits a series of gruesome murders without uttering a single word. He lives as a hermit in the woods, emerging only to kill. It is impossible to destroy Jason. He survives a shooting, a stabbing with a machete, a blow to the head with an ax, a burial, an exposure to toxic waste, a boat propeller strike to the face, and three drownings. Just when he is believed dead, he is brought back to life by an underwater electrical cable. On another occasion, his lifeless body is revived after his chest is pierced by an iron fence post that is struck by a bolt of lightning.
As a youngster, Jason drowns one summer while swimming at Camp Crystal Lake. His body is never recovered from the lake. Jason's mother, upset at the loss of her only son, avenges his death by murdering the counselors and campers. Serial killing runs in the family, and Jason has a talent for murder. His inventive methods include using an ice pick, a pitchfork, a machete, a spear gun, barbed wire, a fire poker, and a wrench as weapons. He also kills by strangling and slashing throats.
DID YOU KNOW? Jason kills more than 100 people in 10 days.
Jason's mother is beheaded by one of the campers she is attempting to kill. The death of his mother awakens in Jason a thirst for revenge, and he grows up alone in the woods without any family. He builds a shrine around his mothers severed head. When the long closed Camp Crystal Lake is reopened, Jason continues the family tradition of killing and sets out to avenge his mothers death.
Even though Jason is a fictional character, he was awarded MTV's Lifetime Achievement Award in 1992.
