The brunette girl fell heavily on the couch with a grimace in her sweaty face. She had been walking tirelessly for at least two hours around Central City under the piercing sun of August. Her feet hurt. Her skin burned. Her morale couldn't reach a lower level.
Just when she was about to take a refreshing shower, her phone started to vibrate. "Hey", she said with a transparent feeling of sadness.
- I'm glad to talk to you too, Neely - her friend from Starling City joked. Being like twins since almost ten years as they were, the blonde in the other side of the line didn't need much more evidence to detect the discomfort of her pal.
- Felicity, you know I love when you call, it's just that I'm utterly tired.
- Bad news?
- Well, certainly not good ones. Despite of all the curriculums vitae that I have sent, I didn't received even a single job offer. I just came from a long walk, acually. I thought that maybe I could be more lucky today, so I delivered some more, but I guess I was way more optimistic than I should, since in every place I went they told me that they weren't hiring personnel at the moment.
Felicity pondered a few seconds on what could she say to such an obscure prospect.
- Then I called right in time! - she gathered enough strength to continue the conversation in the merriest tone possible. - Honestly, I wanted to invite you to Jitters tonight. Of course, I know: you've got no money until you get a job, but don't worry, it's on me. Remember those friends of mine I talked to you about?
- Yeah, the ones from S.T.A.R. Labs.
- Exactly. You know, since you moved here recently, it will be good for you to have some acquaintances. It's not that I consider you incapable of doing that by yourself, but I know these fellows. I met them about five years ago. They always stood by me and the Team Arrow, they're good people. What's more, they could even help you to find a job.
The sole perspective of breaking the chain of bad luck enlightened Neely's mood, hence she accepted the invitation without second thoughts.

Later that night, a blonde girl with a gentle smile knocked on the door of Neely's apartment, who was awaiting in a dark blue dress, ready to make her way to Jitters.
It wasn't too far from her home. Ten minutes by foot were enough to cover the distance to the café.
When the pair arrived, three people were already at the table in quite a relaxed mood, drinking coffee and chatting.
- You're here! - another brunette young woman yelled excited at Neely and Felicity. She waved an arm to indicate them to join the group, where two seats were saved for both girls. - You must be Neely - she said gladly and embraced her in a warm hug. - I'm Caitlin Snow, and these two gentlemen are Harrison Wells, but you can call him Harry, and Cisco Ramón. - The latter received an apathic greeting from Neely.
After a short while, two more people came to complete the picture, whose names were Barry Allen and (his fianceé) Iris West.
- Neely, first of all I need to know WHERE did you but that dress - Iris asked enthusiastically. Caitlin joined the conversation while Felicity catched up with the boys after a long time of not visiting Central City.
- Felicity told me you study Astronomy - inquired Barry's fianceé.
- I moved to Central City so I could continue my career here, actually. I mean, Starling City has a huge amount of resources, especially since Oliver asumed as Mayor, but I love the observatory you have here. A great part of my childhood memories involve that place.
- Yeah, Cisco loves it too. - said Caitlin. Neely's face changed instantly and the silence dropped like a bomb; it splashed all along the table, just like a huge and tall wave in the rough sea under a storm. It muted Caitlin and Iris first, then moved swiftly to Barry and Felicity, it touched Harrison Wells and it finally crashed over Cisco. Four sharp words followed that innocent line pronounced by Caitlin.
- I bet he does - replied Neely such in a blunt way, looking at Cisco directly in the eyes, that the poor boy shrinked in his seat and a pale rose shadow surfaced his toasted skin. He took a sip of his coffee awkwardly and tried to change the subject.
- Oh, you guys know each other? - Felicity asked, playing anxiously with her ponytail, trying to manage the shock.
- It's a long story that we can save for another meeting, right?- Cisco asked smiling gently at Neely, looking for approval or sympathy. That he did not found.
The incident was quickly left behing by the group for the rest of the night. Except for Cisco. Although he was an extremely talkative person, the words could not slip out of his tongue easily after the previous scene.
