Let's Fly Together

Waking up late,  I fixed myself and ate some breakfast.  It's now mid October, four months since the start of my highschool life.

...

Entering my class, I can sense the thick tension in the room.

I was still sleepy to start a conversation so I just layed in my desk after arriving. Some random classmates came to me and shared what happened earlier. Ofcourse I have no idea as I'm late again.

"So Mariah and Lehm had a fight?" I asked again making sure

"It's actually Mariah with her group." Leo responded

I was a bit stunned and immediately glanced at my bestfriend. I found him laying his head on his desk few tables from mine.

I didn't hesitate to walk to his table.

"Hey,  you alright??  Heard you had a fight." I whispered slapping his shoulder softly

"A fight? No! This is war!
And I dont wanna talk about it right now!" he replied

I was so surprised to see Lehm fuming.

We never had fights before, also, he's too kind to be involve in any fights. And whenever we have some misunderstanding, he's always the first one to approach and apologize even if I'm at fault.

"You can always tell me whenever you want. I'm always here for you,  you know that right? " I sat down next to him

He nodded not saying a thing so I just let him be and just wait until he calms down.

...

We're currently sitting below this big tree besides the gym. Lehm told me the whole story while  eating our lunch.

"You know, she started it.  It was just a little misunderstanding. This little! " he lift his hand showing his forefinger almost touching his thumb

"She suddenly mocked me. Being sassy and said those not so kind words. It made me lose my temper."

I nodded while chewing my food.

"And here I am thinking she's cool and all! Geez. So we started arguing, even shouting at each other making a commotion.
Miss Quindo came up running to separate us. As expected, she scolded us,  but you know what's more frustrating??
It was just me being scolded!
She said, how can I be called a man when I'm fighting an innocent girl. " He exhailed deeply

I blinked in surprise hearing his story.

"Am I that bad? " he asked with a whimper

I felt really bad seeing Lehm this vulnerable. This is making me angry. I'm probably biased to my best friend but it's just normal right?

Ofcourse Mariah got it all. All the teacher's love her, so how Miss Quindo acted and took her side is expected.

"I understand your frustrations. What happened is really unfair in your part and me as your bestfriend feels the same."

Lehm smiled a bit then looked at the sky

"I was humiliated in front of everyone. What a great day! "He whispered

"I know. But soon enough everyone will forget about that. No one will remember the incident after some time. So stop stressing yourself. It's not worth it. Let's just avoid her and her friends for a while now."

Lhem nodded and gestures for a fistbump before mouthing thankyou. I grinned as we continue to eat our lunch.
