We started the match and I didn't expect Mae to make a spanish opening move. That's uh lame I guess? I mean, that's the usual opening move so I though she would try something impactful like a Kings or Queen's Gambit.

I made a center counter to tease her on her next move.

"What are you doing?" She asked shaking her head

"Playing?" I teased back making her laugh

"I really hate it when someone interrupts my opening move." She replied playfully rolling her eyes

"Then I'm expecting this to be a great game." I countered

I smiled as she made her next move but then caught on my breath as I can feel the glare of Juno on our side. I made my next move to occupy Mae's attention and quickly glanced at Juno.

I raised both of my eyebrows confused on to why she's acting strange.

She gave me a plain stern look before mouthing 'behave' giving me those chills.

Is she jealous? Doesn't she know how terrifying her face looks when she's like that? 

I slowly focused my attention to the match infront of me and shaked my uneasiness. She wanted for me to win this so I shall also do my best.

The match dragged for a while. Patty's game was already won by her so everyone is now watching our match. An hour had passed and we're still in the middle of the game. My mind is starting to be tired so I stretched for a bit since I'm waiting for Mae's next move.

I heard a somebody's talking since silence filled the room. Here she is again, Patty is trying to impress Juno everytime she gets a chance. I released a small grunt that Mae stared at me confusedly.

"Why are you mad when you're in the lead." She asked making me shake my head

"I'm not in the lead. It's a close match." I replied and tried to focus again on the game

The match ended after 30minutes and unexpectedly, I won.

Yep, I won.

I can see nobody expected me to win the game since everyone is a bit surprise about the result. Well, who could have thought a new comer will defeat the former champion.

"Damn it. This also happened when we played back on grade school." Mae whined as we shaked hands

I laugh it out seeing she's not mad that she lost. She's even rooting for me on my next match.

I felt a soft touch from my arms and heard Juno whispered.

"You did great." She whispered as she walks passed me

I smiled in myself a bit loosen up since she's not mad at me anymore.

"We can start the next match now." Juno announced so I didn't move on my spot and waited for my opponent

The freshmen is really nervous as she stands opposite me. I made her choose her piece before starting the match. The match ended quickly in 10minutes not like my first match with Mae.

I can see the plastered smile on Juno's face as she announced my name as the winner of Board 1. Patty on the other hand also won her match which made her the champion for the board 2.

I can't approach Juno seeing Patty is always by her side but we communicate through glances. I'm at the corner waiting for the other matches to end when Juno made her way to me leaving Patty behind.

"Nessa, you can Go since you're already the champion." She announced so everyone can hear that she's just speaking to me as a coach

"I don't have anything to do Miss, so I'll watch the Match between Patty and the winner on the board 1." I replied
