Chapter 16

"Get out of the way Kate! I need to see him!" Troye yelled at me.

"Be quiet. You better not wake Tyde up." I said calmly.

"MOVE KATE! HE'S MY BROTHER, SO LET ME SEE H-" Troye shouted even louder but was interupted by Tyde's voice.

"Kate?" Tyde asked from inside the room.

"Look what you did!" I whisper/yelled at Troye. 

"Well since he is awake then I guess I will talk to him now." Troye tryed to get around me but I didn't let him.

"Sage?!" I yelled from the hallway.

"Yes Kate?" She said coming to where we were in the hallway.

"Could you take Troye somewhere?"

"Yes. C'mon Troye. Let Kate talk to Tyde first." Sage said and dragged Troye away from me.

When he was gone I opened the door and saw a tired looking Tyde sitting up on th bed against his headboard.

"What's going on?" He asked and rubbed his eyes.

"Your brother is trying to see you." I walked over to him and sat on the edge of his bed.

"Please keep him away. I'm not ready to see the dissapointment in his eyes yet." He said and looked down to his lap, playing with his fingers.

"That's not true. He is so worried about you. He will never be dissapointed in you." I said and moved over so that I was sitting beside him, and leaning against the headboard. I took his hands in mine and used my thumb to trace circles on his hand. He leaned his head on my shoulder and took a deep breath.

I looked at him and saw that he had his eyes closed in pain.

"Do you need me to get you anything? Pain killers?" I asked him, still holding his hands.

"Yes please. My mom has them."

"I will go ask for them. Be right back." I got off the bed and ran out of the room to the kitchen where Tyde's mom, Laurelle, was sitting.

"Laurelle?" I said coming into the kitchen.

"Hello dear! Is everything alright? How is Tyde?" She is so nice!

"Everything is good! Can Tyde have some painkillers?"

"Of course!" She went to a cabinet and got a pill bottle out from the top shelf. She also went to the fridge and got a water bottle.

"Here you go Kate! So how is Tyde doing?"

"He is doing well. He is in some amount of pain though. And his gauze should be changed soon" When we were at the hospital, the doctor tought us how to change the gauze correctly without hurting Tyde. We also have to put a cream on the cuts so that it will heal faster and not get infected.

"Thank you so much Kate! You don't know how much this means to us. Your like my second daughter." She said giving me a hug.

"Your like a second mom to me! And I would do anything to help Tyde. I'm sure he will come out of his room soon. He just thinks that everybody is dissapointed in him." I said the last part sadly.

"My poor baby. I will never be dissapointed in him. Well you should get the pain killers to Tyde now."

"OK. Bye." I grabbed the bottle of water and the pill bottle and brought them to Tyde's room.

I walked in and he was in the same spot that I left him in.

"Hey." I said and I walked over to him and passed him the water bottle. I checked the pill bottle and it said to give him two pills.

"Hi. Thank you Kate." Tyde said as I gave him the pills. He sat up a little more and swallowed the pills.

I sat beside him and leaned into his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and rested his chin on my head.

"How did I get so lucky? I have the most amazing girlfriend in the world!" Tyde said.

"Thank you. I have a pretty awesome boyfriend too!" I shifted around so that I could look uo at him.

"Ouch. Kate. Leg." I realized that I was resing my arm on one of his thighs and quickly moved.

"I should probably change your gauze now. Or your mom or other family member could?" I suggested. He has mostly talked to me since we got home.

"No. Only you. I don't want to see anyone else."

"Why?" I asked him, confused.

"I guess I am a bit embarassed. And I don't want them to be upset with me."

"You shouldn't be embarassed. And I promise that they will not be upset with you. They love you so much and they just want you to be happy and healthy." I said looking into his eyes so he knows that I am dead serious.

"I can't help but think that."

"I will be by your si-" I got interupted by Laurelle.

"Dinner!" She shouted from the kitchen.

"Are you going to come Tyde?" I asked him.

"Yes. Can you help me get into my wheel chair?" He looked slightly embarassed because he needed help with something so simple.

"Of course! And I will change your gauze after dinner." I stood up and walked to his side of the bed. I helped him stand up and then I put my arm around his waist and pulled him to the wheel chair. He sat down and I pushed the wheelchair out of the room and into the kitchen.

I got my food and helped Tyde get his and then we went to the dining room. There was a spot at the end of the table without a chair so I wheeled him there and sat at the spot beside him. Everybody else was already at the table so we started eating. It was really silent until Sage started talking to me. We were not talking about anything interesting but it was better then the silence.

"What are you going to tell your subscribers Tyde?" Troye asked Tyde randomly. Everybody was suprised about his sudden question.
