"Do you know how to make curry?" Asked Queenie, holding up a silk dress and inspecting the sleeves.

"I've only made vegetable pie before," responded Newt quietly.

He dipped his quill in a pot of ink and scratched something into his notebook.

"Oh rabbits! I think I've made the sleeves too loose again..." muttered Queenie, fiddling with the pale pink ribbon that ran down the sleeve.

"Tina can't make vegetable pie. She always makes the broccoli too mushy," she murmured.

Newt flicked his gaze to Queenie.

He'd helped to prepare dinner earlier, and she grew curious about what else he knew how to make, and was now naming numerous types of foods, some of which he'd never heard of before, let alone knew how to cook.

"What about desserts? Do you know how to do any desserts?"

Newt shook his head and went back to his notebook. Queenie looked appalled.

"Well then we'll just have to teach you!"

Newt looked up again.

"Oh, Queenie. No, no, no..." he trailed off.

Once Queenie put her mind to something, there was no stopping it.

"I'll help you make something tomorrow!" She said happily.

Queenie walked into the kitchen and opened some cupboards.

"We have an awful lot of blueberries..." she mumbled, puzzled.

"How about blueberry cake?" She said eventually.

Newt wasn't listening. He dipped his quill into the ink pot again, muttered something along the lines of:

"Sure, okay," and scribbled something else in his book.

Queenie closed the cupboard and crept up behind the couch, watching him. Newt, oblivious, kept drawing.

"Is that Artemis?"

He jumped and almost dropped his quill.

"Merlin's beard, Queenie!"

He took a moment to catch his breath and resumed sketching.

"Yes," Newt mumbled, brows furrowed while he drew her tail, swishing out behind her sitting figure.

Queenie leaned over the couch.

"You're good," she said quietly, watching him finish the tail and draw her eyes, like chips of ice, even in black and white.

He didn't respond. He wasn't ignoring her- he was just absorbed in his work. Newt didn't even notice when Queenie left and went back to sewing her dress. Or when Jacob entered the living room and watched him, hunched over his notebook, frowning as he outlined the lighting in Artemis' eyes.

"He's good, isn't he?" Called Queenie from the kitchen.

Jacob nodded, still looking at Newt.

"Can I help with dinner?" Asked another voice.

Everyone glanced up, except for Newt, who was still scribbling in his book.

"Dinner's ready. We can eat whenever we want to," replied Queenie, fingering the light pink sleeves of her gown. She set it back on the table and picked up a needle.

Tina tore her gaze from Queenie and wandered into the living room to sit down. The atmosphere was slightly tensed, tainted. Everyone noticed and Jacob decided to loosen it up.

"Have you seen what Newt's drawing?" He said, looking up from his book.

Tina leaned over to watch him, then smiled.

"You're drawing Artemis," she said slowly, a smile spreading itself across her face.

Newt looked up at her.

"Yes."

Tina delicately hovered a finger just above his notebook, careful not to smudge the ink.

"How do you make her eyes look so real?" She asked him, pointing to the kitten's right eye, which he was still working on.

Newt dropped his quill in the ink pot.

"Just practice, I suppose," he said quietly, inspecting the eye.

He gingerly picked up the quill and sketched over the details again.

"Can you teach me?" Tina asked gently.

Silence. Newt held her gaze. She really did have eyes just like a salamander.

Jacob and Queenie flashed each other a mischievous glance, which went unnoticed by the other two, who were still competing in an intense silent staring contest.

"Of course," whispered Newt finally, and pulled his eyes from hers.

Tina smiled and continued to watch him draw.

Here's another chapter because I'm bored ;)

Uhh- It's still one more day until Newt's birthday...

what am i saying...

Right! This chapter is called "Glacius", because it's a spell used to transform something into ice, and Newt draws Artemis' eyes "Like chips of ice, even in black and white." It's probably not the best title, but even Harry Potter Wiki seems to be stumped... and I'm saving a chapter name to do with drawing for something else :3

Brace yourselves for a couple fluffy Newtina chapters ^^
