It's a puzzle with many missing pieces
But don't worry.
I do not expect you to fill everything in...
If you're up for it we can find them together.
I'll always be a wee bit insecure and jealous.
The littlest things can cause me mini panic attacks,
Lots of anxiety and a huge room for self doubt.
That's what you get for a lifetime of believing
You're never good enough.
Oh, but I put my brave face on everyday
And boy, can I make anyone feel better in a heartbeat
Because I know how it feels like at the bottom of the barrel.
I might need to borrow courage from you every now and then.
I run low on it time and again.
Also a boost of affirmation won't hurt
For times when I fail to cheer myself up.
I don't need much to be impressed, really,
Some kindness and affection would swoop me off my feet in no time
But I pray that it's consistent.
I fervently hope that it's permanent
Because I know people are capable of merciless deceit.
Be brave. Be honest. Be mine.
