Maya's POV
It's summer time in North Carolina and everyone's at the beach hanging out by the water. Riley and I are sharing the gossip from last year and the boys are out in the water.
I hear my name being called from the water.
"Maya," it's Lucas waving his hands around, "Maya come get in the water."
"Let's go," I jumped up and throw my sunglasses down on the towel.
Riley stands up and we both take off running for the water. I feel the cold water against my legs and take a step back. Riley runs out towards Farkle and Lucas.
"Let's go Maya," Lucas yells.
"It's too cold," I yell back.
Lucas begins walking towards, "Come on it's not that bad."
"Just give me a minute," I step forward a bit.
Lucas rolls him eyes and picks me up by the waist, "Better."
I smile, "Better."
He leans in and kisses me. His lips taste salty but I didn't mind. Now this was my definition of perfect.
"Maya," Riley yelled, "Maya!"
I turn my head towards her.
"Your day dreaming again," she yelled.
Things weren't perfect. I wasn't in North Carolina with Lucas I was back home in New York. I wasn't dating Lucas anymore. Cory and Topanga were away in Spain and Farkle was looking for colleges.
Riley was the only one with me besides my mom. I didn't even know where Lucas was anymore. I stopped talking to him after we broke up.
