You made your way back to the circus, you could see the coloured flags coming into show the further you walked. Your mum hugged you close and tightly held Lonnie with her free arm to keep you both shielded from the icy wind. Your mum's phone began to ring; she stopped in her tracks, struggling to reach it and carry Lonnie at the same time.

"One minute love," She said "Can you hold your brother for a moment?"

You frowned.

Liking him or not, you took Lonnie off your mother and held him gently in your arms. He was heavier than you thought he was; He nestled into the warmth of your chest, his eyes peering up at you. You could see all the love and time she had put into keeping him safe. Your little brother was so vulnerable, so helpless. You could feel his tiny heart beating in time to your own, but you wouldnt let your raging urges take over. You still hadn't met the 'lucky man' who'd brought the life to your mother and you were glad. Was probably him on the phone now, you thought.

You walked on ahead - your mum would just have to catch up with you, after all you were cold and Lonnie had been dumped on you. The circus was as rowdy as you'd left it, you smiled at your home. There, there was no family members to fill your hopes up before plunging you down with deceit and regret. Everyone and no one was your family when you wanted them and you liked it that way. Still contemplating,  you trudged through the muddy direction of your trailer.

The Sparkling Sprites caught sight of you. You smiled and waved to see them running towards you - you couldn't have been any more naïve.

"Y/N!" Amz called out, "Don't tell me that cutie is yours?"

You glared down at Lonnie. "Just take all my family away from me why don't you?" You whispered to him. "He's my mother's." You told them once they'd caught up to you, "His name is Lonnie."

"He's so sweet!" Em exclaimed.

"You sure he's not yours?" Ette asked "He looks like Jerome,"

"Also got your nose and facial expressions." Amz added.

Ette and Amz were constantly shipping you and Jerome, even though you wished it to be true you'd always deny it.

"J and I are just friends," you shrugged.

"Then how come you have pet names for each other?" Amz smirked

"Just friends." You repeated

"Sure ." Amz mocked.

Soon enough, Lonnie and your mum had attracted a whole crowd of the circus folk. You'd passed Lonnie back to your mum and everyone cooed over Lonnie as if he was going to be the new circus attraction. Jerome seemed to be the only one who could see through your act.

"What do you do for a job, Miss Y/L/N?" Em carelessly asked

Amz nudged her for her imprudence. "She's divorced stupid, she's with someone else." Her whisper was loud, more like a yell.

"I studied psychology, helping a wide variety relieve of their grief ." Your mum explained, "And girls you are all old enough to call me Roxanne."

"What's your full name?"

"Now?  Roxanne Machin."

"Awwww, he's got your eyes!" Em squealed "You're so lucky, I wish I had kids."

"I don't," Amz said

"I do, I've already decided what I want to call my first child." Mary told the group

"A child. Only have them if you're ready to give up your happiness,  girls." Lila warned "And having more than one kid will always lead to disaster, especially if one is vulnerable, sibling rivalry has no limits. "
