- THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY

LUTHER carried the urn out to the courtyard, his siblings in tow. The all stared up at the rain in misery, adding onto the already miserable mood. Marley stood beside Ben's statue, the sight of it bringing back memories of when he was still alive. Vanya stood beside her, an umbrella in her hand sheltering the pair from the rain.

"Did something happen?" Mum asked in her normal cheery tone, all of the siblings turning towards her in concern.

"Dad died. Remember?" Allison asked.

"Oh. Yes, of course." Mum replied in confusion.

"Is Mum alright?" Marley asked.

"Yeah, yeah, she's fine." Diego quickly replied, assuring himself more than anyone else. "She just needs to rest. You know, recharge."

Pogo walked up to the group, silencing any further comments.

"Whenever you're ready, dear boy." Pogo said to Luther.

Luther sighed, taking the lid off of the urn and pouring the contents out. The ashes fell to the ground depressingly, the rain making it become one with the mud.

"Probably would have been better with some wind." Luther stated.

"Does anyone wish to speak?" Pogo asked, trying to show respect to his master.

All of the siblings shuffled on the spot, no one wanting to be the first to speak. Marley looked around at her siblings deciding that they would never give up and be the one to say something about their father.

"Very well." Pogo sighed at the lack of an answer. "In all regards, Sir Reginald Hargreeves made me what I am today. For that alone, I shall forever be in his debt. He was my master...and my friend, and I shall miss him very much."

The siblings remained in their silence, revelling in the words spoken by Pogo. They each knew that those words could only relate to Pogo, for their father had been the nightmare of their lives; the thing that made them who they are or aren't today.

"He leaves behind a complicated legacy-" Pogo began.

"He was a monster." Diego interrupted.

Klaus chuckled at his brother's use of dark humour to show his attitude towards the situation.

"He was a bad person and a worse father." Diego sighed, staring at his ashes, "The world's better off without him."
