I woke up to hear rain pounding on the roof loudly, as light flashed from the now closed curtains. I look to no one else but Jiwon beside me, his eyes scanned over one of our school books. Leaning my body closer to his, Jiwon snapped his head quickly to me. I started to laugh as to see the surprised face of Jiwon. He started to laugh, realizing that I was awake.
"Hanbin-ah- you scared me-" Jiwon hyung said, clearly having a cheerful tone that laced his scared voice. He slapped my wrist playfully.
"Hyung? What time is it?" I looked at the window, obviously I could tell that we won't be having school at all due to this weather.
"Uhhhh I think..." Jiwon squinted at his wristwatch "Uhhh 7:47 A.M.. we don't have school, that's kinda obvious since.. " Jiwon then gestured at the window, obviously mentioning to the heavy weather.
I chuckled a bit, "That is obvious hyung, so uh... what should we do?" I asked him, Jiwon shrugged once again looking at his book.
I peeped over his shoulder to see what he was reading, Jiwon was reading a science book for our grade. He was on a page that had formulas for simplifying large number, I stated at Jiwon's face. His brows were furrowed in irritation, a frown that was on his lips and his eyes were squinting.
I placed my chin on his shoulders, "Do you need help on that hyung? I can help you, since I was assigned to be your tutor and stuff." Jiwon turned his head, a faint splash of red that was dusted on his cheeks, I poured and tilted my head.
"U-uh... sure Hanbin.." Jiwon looked at me then down to my pouted lips, "I-Is this position okay for you to teach?" Thinking on what he said just now, I wrap an arm over his shoulders.
"This is comfy for me hyung, but are you ok with this?" As soon as I said that, Jiwon nodded, the red flush on his cheeks still prominent.
I smiled, "Great let's start this tutoring session!" Jiwon then looked down at his book. He fidgeted with the edge of the page.
"Are you okay now Hanbinnie? Is your tummy ok?" Jiwon asked, I nodded. Jiwon sighed then smiled at me, then a grumbling sound erupted from his stomach.
Jiwon's eyes widen, he laughed. "I think we should eat first Hanbin-ah." I chuckled and agreed to what he said.
Jiwon closed the book and placed it on the brown coffee table, we stood up and stretched our bodies after sleeping in the couch. We headed off to the kitchen, I went straight into the refrigerator. My eyes scanned the shelves.
"Hey Hanbinnie, your mom was here and made us some stew." Jiwon said, I closed the refrigerator's door. My eyes veered to the large gray pot that sat atop on the wooden dining table.
Am I blind for not noticing that? Probably? I walked to the drawers and got two black bowls for us, then took two spoons and two pairs of chopsticks. I placed them in a the bowls and then went to Jiwon. He took a bowl and then placed it on the table, I placed mine next to his. He pulled out a seat and ushered me to sit down, I smiled at how kind he was. Jiwon noticed the smile and then returned it with a much cuter one, the warm feeling again resides in my chest and an odd fluttering feeling in my stomach. Maybe I'm just really hungry, that's why I'm feeling these things.
I reached to the gray pot, feeling it's radiating warmth. Jiwon stared at me wide eyed, with surprise written on his face, he seemed flabbergasted.
"You don't pray before eating your meals?" Jiwon asked, the tone of surprise that was in he voice. Wait.... Is Jiwon-Hyung religious?
I turned my head to him, as I was about to speak Jiwon shook his head. "I understand that Hanbinnie, it's ok! I'm Roman Catholic, my religion I mean. I'm guessing that you aren't?" I nodded shyly, Jiwon smiled.
"Can you wait for me for a bit? This prayer won't take long." Jiwon asked, I nodded once again.
Jiwon then tapped or pressed his head, then his chest and then the both of his shoulders with his right hand and then pressed his two hands together, then he uttered a few words under his breath, as seconds have passed he repeated the same action he did earlier and bowed his head afterwards. He then turned his head to look at me, Jiwon smiled.
"Let's Eat!" He said with his signature bunny smile, and his seemingly closed smiling eyes.
We then reached for the gray pot, I poured some stew into both of our bowls. After filling mine, Jiwon handed me his bowl, feeling his fingertips giving me another rush of warmth through my chest. I tried not to mind the odd feeling and went onto pouring some stew into Jiwon's bowl.
I then gave him his bowl back after filling the bowl with stew, we then started drinking the stew. Jiwon's eyes widened as he tasted the stew, I smile at his reaction. Jiwon then looked at me, he laughed nervously.
"Did I look weird when I did that face Hanbin?" He asked, nervousness that laced his usual voice.
I shook my head, "Nope, you actually looked cute." After saying that, warmth was spread across my cheek. That caused Jiwon to smile once again.
"That's good to know... they say that I look weird and stuff when I do faces." Jiwon nervously ran his fingers through his hair, I pouted at what he said.
I took a sip and then looked at Jiwon, "Weird? Excuse me hyung your face is cute! Mine is weird!" I said, the pout on my lips still there.
"Aish! Hanbin-ah! I'm weirder looking! You're supposed to be the cute one!" Jiwon put down his spoon as he said that and then slapped my shoulder playfully, a toothy grin that was on his face.
I returned the playful smack, "No you!" We kept returning the words to each other.
"Y'know What? We're both weird and cute, equally. There, the argument is over!" Jiwon said, we both burst into laughter after what he said.
"G-Good one hyung- we should start drinking this stew already! It's probably cold because of our playful argument!" I said, wheezing a bit. Jiwon looked at his bowl.
We both laughed again, and continued to drink our now lukewarm soup.
