The Unwanted Daughter

Chapter Twenty Three

I am rudely awakened by my phone ringing. I answer it unknowing who is calling, "hello" I say groggily, still very tired and annoyed at the person who woke me up. 

"Emma, where the hell are you? Your not at the Salvatore house, the safe house or school, so where the hell are you." Elena yells at me through the phone, slowly waking me up. 

"Good morning to you too Elena." I say sarcastically mocking her hello. 

"Good morning Emma, now where the hell are you, you've already missed first period."

"Calm down, I'm at the Mikaelson house. Did I not tell you I moved there when Kol got here?" 

"No you didn't tell me, and next time you decide to move please send me the address." 

"Okay, I'm sorry. I promise next time I move I'll tell you."

"Thank you, now get your ass down to the school. Everyone is freaking out because you missed first." She yells at me. 

"Okay, I'm on my way." And I hang up with Elena. I guess now I have to get dressed and go to school, boo. 

As I walk to my dresser Kol walks in the room, "What was that? he asks about the phone call with Elena, he of course could hear it. 

"Elena is freaking out because apparently I overslept and managed to skip first." 

"I see well seems you must get to school."

"Unfortunately seems like it. Hey do me a favor and welcome Rebekah without me. Tell her I was forced to go to school."

"Will do." And Kol walks out letting me change. 

I change into black ripped jeans with a sleeveless army green turtleneck and a black sweater.  Adding my signature eyeliner and high heeled combat boots. I walk out the door and yell at Kol that I was leaving. 

When I arrive at school it's about fifteen minuets into second. I walk in late to bio with Mr. Volex and everyone looks up as I walk in. 

"Welcome to class Emma, take a seat please." Mr. Volex tells me. 

I take my seat and somewhat listen to the lesson, not that I care much about biology. Instead I think about the conversation that's going to happen after class. I can already see my father yelling and screaming at me. And Caroline with her bitchy attitude. The worst part is that Elena won't be able to defend me, she has to keep her cover. I can defend myself, but it would be easier with someone they trust to convince them that I really did just over sleep. Truly something so harmless they will turn into the biggest deal. But the knowing thought that I won't have to put up with this shit in a bit will be enough motivation for me to get through this. 

Just as my thoughts are pulled back to reality by the bell I am pulled outside by my father with the gang, minus Damon behind him. 

"Get your damn hands off me." I yell at my father angrily and he lets me go. 

"Where the hell have you been?" He fires back at me. I don't understand why he is damn angry, why he cares where the hell I am. It's a bit late for him to start caring. 

"I overslept, goddammit. That all. Am I allowed to do that?" I yell back so damn angry he cares so damn much, it's not like he really cares anyways. 

"No, no your not allowed to do that because for all I know you are burning a building down." As he finishes his sentence Kol texts me, saying that Rebekah is here. As I continue to mute out the bs Stefan is spitting at me I come up with an idea. and text Kol back. 

"Have Rebekah come to the school"  I tell him

"Okay" He says without a question. 

"What was that?" Caroline snaps at me. 

"Nothing Caroline. Just a surprise for you and your friends." I say simply back.

"Why do you have to be so mean?" Matt asks me. And how the hell was that mean, I didn't say it with any emotion. 

"Oh Matt I'm not mean, why would you think that?" I respond to him sarcastically and a little seductively. I am my mother's child after all. 

"I don't know Emma, maybe it's because you play with other peoples lives like their nothing" He tells me more seriously. 

"Well their lives do mean nothing, and they've played with mine for a century and a half." I tell him. 

"They didn't play with your life Emma" Bonnie pipes in. 

"Actually your right Bonnie they just left me for dead" I tell her back getting more angry as this conversation goes on. But thank god Rebekah finally comes. "Oh look there comes your surprise" I tell the group.     

"Hello Stefan, remember me" Rebekah introduces herself. 

"Rebekah?" My father questions stunned and dumbfounded as he remembers the months that he and Rebekah hooked up in Chicago back in the twenty's. 

"Your Rebekah, the Rebekah." Elena says stunned about Stefan's ex. Elena's met Rebekah plenty of times, but gotta play the part. Rebekah knows about the game we are playing here, so Elena is safe. 

"Yes I am. I'm the one he slept with sixty years before you were born." She responds so confidentially, but that's Bekah. 

"You slept with Stefan" Caroline screams.

"You make it seem like such a big deal when it was so long ago." She says annoyed with Caroline. 

"Yeah well your the bitch that left him behind, so yeah it's kinda a big deal." Caroline responds angry. 

Caroline and Bekah continue their conversation and I zone out thinking about my ultimate plan for this horrible town. I know what I need to do next. I need Elijah and Klaus.
