I get home from school to be greeted by silence. My mom is already out, not that surprising. I decide to text her.

"Weren't you supposed to stay inside?"

"Oh darling, I am inside, but at the Salvatore house with Damon. Thought I could get inside his head. How was school?" She responds back instantly

"Good, plan is working, getting inside Stefan's head is easy. He's decided to go digging into my past. Oh, Elena is coming for dinner tonight." I reply back to her

"Why is Stefan going digging into your past?" She asks.

"We were learning about the 30's today, the teacher asked me some questions."

"I see, and dinner is at midnight?"

"Yup"  We always have dinner at midnight, so nobody can hear us.  And that's the end of the conversation.

Later in the evening I decide to go to some party that Caroline invited me to. I decided to show up late enough to make my presence know, I love a good entrance. Instantly Caroline notices me and comes up to me.

"Emma! Your here!" She exclaims, clearly a little drunk.

"Yes, yes I am Caroline."

"Well lets get you a beer then."

"Yes, lets do that." I would never pass up a drink. We walk up to the bar, or rather the table that is acting as the bar to find my father.

He greets us, "Hey Caroline, Emma, but whispers "What are you doing here Emma?" My word my father is dumb, can't he see I'm here to ruin his life. But gotta make the most of the dumb question.

I whisper back, " I'm here to steal your life remember, I did tell you this earlier, did I not." Gotta poke the bear when ya can. But clearly my father is not impressed because he pulls me aside to talk to me normally, face to face.

"I want you to leave Emma." He starts out, "There is nothing here for you." He tells me.

I laugh at him back, but also say, "I don't want to leave and you can't make me. And what are you talking about, there is something here. Your life. Like I said before, you took my life so I'm going to take yours." But this only makes me angry, only fair though as he's made me angry.

"You hate me that much, hun. You are just as pathetic as your stupid mother." The arrow has hit the heart, because that one hurt, and nobody is going to talk about my mother like that. Especially not my father.

"I have every right to hate you, you left, you didn't want me." I snap back. "Being as pathetic as my mother is not saying allot coming from you. Your just as bad, maybe even worse. Maybe your the one who is pathetic."

"Spite does not look good on you Emma." He says making me want to slap him. But unfortunately for me there are too many people around for me to make a scene and get to off clean. So I just walk away.

I return to Caroline who has my beer, which I gladly take. I down it in nearly one gulp. Caroline introduces me to some of her other friends, like Tyler and Matt both of whom I had already met. But she doesn't know that. We talk for a while until my favorite person shows up. Stefan makes conversation, only annoying me, maybe he is getting inside my head.

After light chit chat, he turns to me and asks, "So Emma, what's up with your family?" He's trying to find out my story. I told a version of it to Matt, but I'm going to do a classic cover up.

"Umm, well my dad is in the military and my mom hops around with him. They let me roam where ever I want." I say so confidently that everyone believes it.
