Jisung had felt rejected, in all sense of the word.
As soon as that lunch bell rang he made his way to sit with his friends. Although, there sat Changbin again. With them. Seungmin wasn't there, which Jisung noticed he hasn't been for the passed few days. The problem with Changbin being there was, Jisung could tell he didn't like him. On top of that, Felix was mad at Jisung for exposing him the other day. But judging by how Felix and Changbin were acting when Jisung saw them currently, the two looked closer than ever before.
If anything, he might have helped the two.
Shoving those thoughts away Jisung sat down underneath the stairwell, claiming that as his new spot for the time being. He was going to go looking for Hyunjin but he knew that he was probably enjoying his time with Minho right now, as he was his only friend left according to Jisung's knowledge.
With a sigh, Jisung rested his head on the wall behind him.
"This is quite the lonely place to hangout, don't you think?"
A voice echoed in the stairwell, startling Jisung. He looked to the direction it came from to see none other than Lee Minho bent over, peering under the staircase at Jisung.
"Well I want to be lonely right now," he muttered, in hopes the handsome lad would go away.
Although despite his hopes, Minho crouched under and sat directly in front of Jisung.
"No one should be alone when they are sad, bad things could happen," he smiled softly.
Jisung didn't look up, desperate to avoid eye contact with him, "what makes you think I'm sad?"
There was a light chuckle as Minho shook his head, "you're easy to read and so is Changbin, it wasn't hard for me to understand what was going on."
Jisung felt a little offended at that statement, but didn't say anything. Easy to read? What the hell was that supposed to mean?
"Why is it your business anyway?" Jisung mutter quietly, his heart rate quickening with anxiety. As soon as he asked that he almost regretted it. He and Minho didn't know each other well, except the last thing he needed was someone else to hate him.
"You don't want to hear my answer to that," He replied, cocking his head to the side.
Jisung finally looked up, eyebrows creased together. Minho was still smiling softly at the younger boy, eyes welcoming and trusting. He almost looked like he was trying to invite Jisung to ask questions, to exploit him. As if Minho has something to say, but he wouldn't say it unless Jisung asked.
Jisung didn't respond to him, and just caught himself staring. He felt like searching Minho's face for something, an answer, anything. But unlike Minho, Jisung was no mindreader. So the two just withheld eye contact until a blush raised to Jisung's cheeks, causing him to avert his gaze.
"W-well, I might not want to hear it but wouldn't it be better if I did?" Jisung finally spoke, clearing his throat awkwardly.
"Maybe..." Minho trailed off, "although you'd never believe me."
"What makes you say that?" Jisung asked, a little more snappy than he intended to.
"Because it's about your asshole boyfriend," Minho responded.
As venomous as that sentence sounds, it held no ill intentions falling from Minho's lips. He spoke calm and collected.
"I though you two were..."
"Friends?" Minho finished with a scoff, "Yeah, not until he gets his act together."
Jisung frowned, "he probably didn't mean it if he did something bad..."
Minho hummed, "it's really cute how oblivious you are. But it's sad he is using that against you. I'd never," he whispered the last part, almost shocking himself he'd say something like that.
"You're saying Hyunjin is using me? That makes no sense," Jisung frowned, suddenly feeling much more defensive against Minho.
Minho opened his mouth to speak, to give Jisung an explanation. Although someone was quick to interrupt him.
"Jisung? I've been looking everywhere for you why are you..." Hyunjin trailed off, eyes wondering to Minho who sat leaned back against the back of the staircase.
Hyunjin's expression turned hard and he crouched under to grab Jisung's forearm, "let's go babe, you don't need to talk to him."
Jisung furrowed his brows, looking between the two. Not only did the tension in the air feel weird but so did the grip Hyunjin has on Jisung's arm.
"Wait, Hyunjin calm down," Jisung laughed nervously as he was pulled up off the ground.
"Let's go," he snarled, giving a death glare to his elder friend as he pulled his boyfriend out of the stairwell, "Don't speak to him again," he added.
"W-what, Hyunjin that's ridiculous-"
"Let's. Go," he cut Jisung off with more force in his voice as he pointed to the doors, gesturing for Jisung to turn around and leave.
Minho didn't respond the whole time as he watched the angry Hyunjin pull Jisung out of the stairwell. He caught a glimpse of Jisung worried expression and shook his head.
"How can he be so oblivious?"
