Annalissa POV
Silence and tension filled my tiny house, making it almost impossible to breathe. I never thought I would see Noah again, but after the last ten minutes I couldn't help but be thankful I was allowed to see him one more time. As much as I hated the guy's guts currently, I did care for him deeply. Oh who was I kidding, I loved the douche but he couldn't know that. "What do you mean you don't know?" his voice was low and sent chills down my spine.
"Just that Noah. I don't know. It's been two years, people change and so do feelings." I responded quietly.
"That's not my fault. YOU left! You left me, your family, your best friend, your whole damn life! We have been looking for you every day since you decided to take off and start a cute little life with that princess outside! All because you threw a temper tantrum like a two year old! You wanted me, here I am! Now come home!" He stalked over to me and grabbed my wrist, tugging me towards the door.
"Let me go, you giant asshat!" I screamed while punching him in the arm. Did I think my punches would have an effect on this man? No. Did I think he would be reasonable and leave? Also no. In other words, nothing was going to stop this man. Nothing but a kick to the nads. "Noah, Let me go! If you want to have a conversation like adults, I am down for that but you are not going to jerk me around and act like you are in charge here." This caught his attention, causing him to halt. His back muscles were tense and his breathing rather fast. Slowly he faced me, a look of anger was trying to take over, but he quickly concealed it with a bored expression.
" I don't want to talk. I want to see my daughter, and I NEED to get you home." He stated through gritted teeth.
"I can arrange for you to see Athena, but we are not leaving this house." before he could protest, I lifted my hand to stop him. "This is our home now. A safe, calm, normal life with people I love and a house that I love. A place where I am not getting shot in the middle of the day, or worried that I will be brutalized in the middle of the night. This town is perfect and I don't want to drag Athena back to a place where she is in constant danger." Pain flashed behind his big brown eyes, but there was also understanding there.
"I thought you left because you thought I left."
"That was one reason. You were the only reason to keep me in that dumb ass town, and once you left I didn't have anything holding me there. I was being selfish, but I was - am done with that life. " I stated matter of factly.
"Well, I would like to see my child. I'm not leaving here till I do, so you better tell twinkle-toes outside to get the fuck lost so we can go get her."
"You need to watch your mouth." I snapped. "You are a guest in this house, and I will not allow you speak of my friends that way."With a sign of surrender, he made his way to my living room, sitting on my beige couch. Grabbing a water bottle out of the fridge, I tossed one at him, which he caught with ease. Quietly I walked back into my kitchen and picked up my cellphone off the counter, after four rings Jazzzmyn answered, "Hey, where are y'all?! I am about to strangle my mother in law and need an alibi." Jazzmyn joked, or at least I hoped she was joking.
"I'm at my house, a complication arose. I wanted to see if you could bring Athena this way." at the mention of our daughters name his head shot up and a smiled made itself onto his face. That panty dropping smile that was enough to get a girl pregnant. Why was God so cruel and letting me be alone with this man? Being near him reminded me of all of the disgustingly delicious things that he had done to my body once upon a time. "Sure, I'll be there in five. Where is Ethan, I thought y'all were coming together?" Jazzy asked.
"He is in my driveway. Let's just say a man from my past is here and would like to see his daughter." I heard Jazzmyn gasp and a bunch of shuffling followed by a grunt. "You okay?"
