Steven, Amethyst, Robert, and Michael were playing a SNES that Peridot got working, after much begging from Michael. After getting his fiftieth "GAME OVER" in Super Ghouls N Ghosts, even Steven was rather vexed, mainly because of how cheap(as in design, not price) the game was. Michael took the cartridge out before anybody could put it in worse condition than they found it. He opened the shoe box they got from the flea market, and put in Mega Man X. Steven passed the controller to Amethyst, who smiled profusely.
The split second that the Warning message popped up, Amethyst felt a stinging pain in her head, forcing her to bring her hands to her head.
"Um, Amethyst? Are you okay?" Steven asked.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. I just have a bit of a headache," she said.
Her vision starts to get blurry before her world faded to darkness.
. . .
"Man. That was one massive headache," said Amethyst, rubbing her forehead as she gathered her bearings. Taking a good look around, she saw that the whole entire area was pink and the ground was covered in pink clouds.
"Am I in Rose's room?" she asked herself.
"Hello, Amethyst?"
Amethyst turned to the source of the voice only to Pink Diamond in her original form, except this time she was wearing Rose's dress.
"Rose?"
"I'm guessing you know the truth about my identity," said Pink Diamond.
"Yeah, but where am I?" the quartz asked.
"We're inside your mind, dear," she replied.
"Okay, but why am I here?" Amethyst asked.
Pink smiled. "Come closer."
Amethyst just shrugged and inched a bit closer to the pink gem.
Pink calmly placed her hands on the small gem's cheeks and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, causing Amethyst's eyes to widen.
Suddenly, Amethyst's gem started giving a bright, pink glow, which illuminated the area around them. After a few seconds, Pink pulled back and the glow faded.
"What was that?" Amethyst asked, star-struck.
"I unlocked your potential," said Pink, smiling.
"My potential?" Amethyst thought.
"You will find out soon. Ask Michael about Project Nora; he'll tell you everything," said Pink.
"Project Nora?" Amethyst asked.
"It's a secret project of mine. None of the other diamonds know about it, but Michael was lucky enough to find my peridot's old logs," she explained. "He should be able to explain everything."
Amethyst nodded. "Okay."
"Oh, and one more thing before you go," said Pink.
"What?" the quartz asked.
Pink smiled and placed a hand under the quartz's chin, "Don't hold grudges, it gets you nowhere."
'Okay. I promise," said Amethyst.
"And another thing?" Pink added.
"Yeah, what?" asked Amethyst.
Pink Diamond plants a gentle kiss on Amethyst's cheek, shocking the quartz.
