Graduation day had come and gone, and childhood was left behind, today marked the first day of adulthood for childhood friends Ana and Taylor, it had been a long road together, elementary, high school and finally college. After graduating from a prestigious law school, Ana had finally gotten her first high paid case. Taylor on the other hand choose the artistic career path and graduated from Juilliard with honours.
After a long time apart the two finally decided to meet up again in New York City. They were going to stay in their old two story house where they, their boyfriends, and some friends, had once lived in together. Taylor had moved out to live with her boyfriend shawn after getting a place closer to Juilliard for her dancing, that left the house to Ana and her boyfriend Cameron.
Finally after a long year, the four could spend some much needed time together. This was Ana's last work day before her vacation, and they planned to meet after the trial was over. This was the most serious case she had ever been involved in, her career was finally taking off. "Ana Cristina Martinez come to the stand." The judges deep voice echoed off the walls of the court room. Ana took a deep breath, stood up and began.
. . .
The trial was over and all she had to wait for was to be dismissed, she hid her phone behind her brief case and sent Taylor a quick text, letting her know she would be out soon. She felt like a school girl again, fighting back giggles while reading the texts they sent one another, she hadn't been this excited in a long time. They had never spent so much time apart and Ana needed a break from work.
Without realizing it, Ana had tapped the call icon next to Taylor's contact name. An excited voice pierced the silence of the room "Hey hey bitch how you doin! I'm outside! the tight asses finally let you out?" Ana quickly fiddled with her phone attempting to hang up the call.
"SHIT!!! ddnt mean to call u!!! still waitin 2 be dismissed. f**** I'm in trouble." Ana typed. Still blushing, Ana mouth sorry to the people staring at her condemingly . After a couple more minutes the judge dismissed the court. Ana picked up her things and said one final "I'm sorry" before walking outside and pulling her phone out again.
She leaned on the side of the building and called Taylor "Hermosa! how have you been i missed you so much! Im outside by the strange green car." "Im just pushing past the crowd, i see you, wait there." Taylor replied and hung up. As soon as they were close enough to one another they ran and hugged. "Are you ready for some classic New York shopping?" Taylor smiled waving over a taxi. "How was the trail? Tell me all about it."
The girls climbed inside the taxi and gave the driver directions to their favourite shops. "Don't even, how did you think it went? Your call was basically the highlight of my case." laughs Ana.
The the girls starting looking outside admiring all the shops and planning their destinations. "You can stop here" Ana said as they pulled up in front of a makeup store and a frozen yogurt cafe. The taxi cab came to a stop and the meter stopped running "30$ please" The man stretched his hand out waiting for his money. "Im paying for everything today Kooks" Taylor hands the man a 50$ bill and waited for her change. Ana thanks her and gets out of the cab. They walk to different shops, stopping to look at certain pieces along the way, until finally stopping to rest at the nearby yogurt place.®
