Xander's POV (Killian)
I was sitting in my office doing paperwork when I suddenly feel a sharp pain in my back. It's not my pain, but Briar's. I immediately get up, go outside and shift into my brown wolf. I follow Briar's scent and am horrified to see her hanging from a tree with only her bra and shorts on. I also see several lashes against her once flawless body. I see they begin to scar and then they become thin red lines. Good thing I can control my wolf otherwise we would have been found by none other than Killian. And by the looks of it, Briar is passed out or gone. But, she's not dead otherwise I wouldn't be able to feel our connection through the mate bond. I was just about to pounce when a voice interrupted, "Don't, Xander. If you kill him then you kill me. He somehow tied our lives together. But you can kill him, I would completely understand. You would be doing it for the safety of our pack and pups." I growled in response to that comment. "Even if I was left no choice I would pick you over the pack any day. You and our pups. Just having the thought of possibly killing you makes me and my wolf sick. So no, we will just capture him and bring him back as prisoner." I replied with a shake of my massive head, I would an could not kill my other half. I would rather die first.

" But the thing is, Xander he claims to be my mate." I'm shocked but I wasn't prepared for what Killian did next.

OK, eventful chapter. Leaving you guys on a cliff hanger is fun, but I think it builds suspense. Don't you think? Mahahah (evil laugh insert here). But sorry its so short. Thinking of having next chapter be longer? Not to sure yet.
