Chapter 25

Luke's POV (Luke up above)

We were still surrounded by rogue wolves. My Luna and best friend was in danger and to make matters worse Xander was having a stare down with his twin. We were severely outnumbered and us getting out of this alive was an understatement. All I wanted was to protect my best friend and Alpha. I know me and Briar weren't as close as she and Chase was, but she was still my friend. And Xander doesn't know this but she is also my sister. She doesn't even know. I'm older than her by a few years so she wouldn't know me. I was still shifted into my wolf who is a gray wolf. He really stands out and his name is Ozzy. He is just your average gray wolf but he is worth having. He keeps me company and I don't mind him much really.

Chase's POV

I must say. Briar is brave standing up to Xander like that. But she is even braver for she made the first move on the rogues. I guess being a young girl and being reckless and upset at your one love does that to ya. Ok, enough talking I gotta go fight.

I am backed up against the tree by 12 rogues. I won't be able to take them all. They pounce on me and I see my sister run up and attack 2 of them at the same time. I try to mindlink her but I am losing to much blood. I then start to feel a warm glow surround my body.

Briar's POV

I feel claws rake down my back and I let out a yelp of pain. My friend and Delta Chase comes up to me and attacks the wolves attacking me. I get up and try not to dwell on the damage that was done to my back end. I stand and limp to 4 rogues going up against my friend, Luke. I bite one and scratch another. They move and I get a chance to see my friend lying on the ground surrounded by a pool of blood. I don't notice but I'm using some of my energy and life source to heal him. I continue to fight and out of the of the corner of my eye Luke stands up and takes on the rogues. Before I have time to comprehend what is happening 3 huge wolves jump on my back and start to tear into me. I let out a howl of pure agony before one gets my neck and cuts off my breathing. I then realize that they don't want to take me, but kill me instead. In one last crushing bite, my world stops and Xander lets out a strangled cry for reinforcements. Before I take my last breath. My friend Luke goes into a rage, kills the wolves on my back, I also shift back to my human form, and he says, "I'm sorry, sister. I tried." After that I go into the dark and as I'm fading away I hear Xander let out a sad howl of loss and sadness. That's enough for me to know I'm going away from him.

Xander's POV

My mate is dead. I know it because this time I can't hear her or feel her heartbeat or pulse. I shift back and all the rogues back away as I let my wolf take over and forces me to shift back. All I see is red as I kill every wolf in my sight that is the enemy.

My mate is lying on the bed in our vault. I take her hand as I sob and I cry my heart out for my dead mate.

OK, don't hate me. I have a plan for the next few chapters. I hope you can forgive me.
