Briar Rose

Chapter 23

Xander's POV

Welcome home Alpha. Yeah I've missed this place. I smiled as I picked Briar Rose-Spence up. Now she really did belong to me and I to her. I smirked as she gasped and threw her arms around my neck. I then take her inside and go up to our room. I lay her on the the bed and I go over to her and we start to kiss. We didn't get much sleep that night.

I sigh as I trace my mate's back lightly with my fingers. She shivered and I smirked at the effect I had on her.  She was waking up and I stopped and stared at her. She moaned and said something along the lines of, "No, what why did you stop?!"

I laughed lightly at her response and go back to running my fingers up and down her back. She sighs in content and she flutters her eyes open. I am still in awe at my mates eyes. They look exactly like my own, and her lips, don't even get me started on those. They are the softest I have ever felt and I just want to always kiss her and never let her go.

I'm so glad we're back from our honeymoon. I was needing to get back for some pack business and I know that Briar would want to help me. But I didn't mind. She's fulfilling her role as a Luna. I'm very proud of her and I can't wait til she's ready to rule by my side.

Briar's POV

I'm married. I'm no longer Rose, but Rose-Spence. I like the name Mrs. Spence quite well if I'm being honest. 

"Earth to Briar. Hello, anybody home? Mrs. Spence!" I look up to see Xander smiling at me and his smile turned into a smirk when he said that last sentence. 

"As you know Briar, since we're married, enemies are gonna want to hurt us, hurt you. But I won't allow it. Which is why you won't be able to train with the other wolves any longer. I just don't want you getting hurt."

"Well I am hurt because you know how much I love fighting! How could you Xander? You know that's what I enjoy most! And my best friend Luke is out there, he's my patrol buddy and my best friend." 

"NO!" He roared, "I cannot have you disobeying me. Luke is also getting a little to friendly for my taste so, no." He sighed out that last part and he had a stone hard gaze. His eyes softened when he noticed me crying and shaking.

Before he could reach me I slipped out of my dress and shifted into my blue wolf. Before he could stop me I jumped out of the window and into the forest below.

It's been a couple hours now and I'm running patrol with Luke. I was blocking me and Xander's mindlink. He hurt us.

But he was only looking out for us. His wolf is angry at Xander and us running away only made things worse.

"I know, Rayne. I'm sorry, but he needs to think about me before he thinks about 'protecting' me."

My wolf sighed and laid down in the back of my mind. She's upset. And she has every reason to be.

"Hey, Briar, are you ok? You look grief stricken. Tell me who did this to you and they will be gone."

"No, don't do that Luke, Because then you make 'Alpha' Xander mad."

"Oh, ok then. Nevermind."

 I chuckled a bit and then I stopped in my tracks. I sniff the air and I smell rogues. They shouldn't be this close to the territory.

"Luna, we need you to come back to the pack house."

I growled and blocked everyone off except Luke. He stood protectively in front of me as the rogues surrounded us. There had to be at least 300 and I knew we were severely out numbered.

"Hello, my dear sister. I've finally got you."

Gonna be mean and end it in a cliff hanger.  Don't hate me.
