Mei was waiting outside the classroom for Momo, so they could head down to the locker rooms before gym class.

To her misfortune, Monoma walked by.

"Good afternoon, Shinomori." he said, with a sly smile.

"I was wondering why the birds suddenly stopped singing." replied Mei.

"Another day, and you remain an empty shell of a human, huh?" frowned Monoma.

"Listen you slimy worm, I'm here waiting on Momo. If I wasn't, you'd be dead already. If you continue to irritate me, I'll kill you and then apologize to Momo."

"You know you can't." he chuckled. "Because I know who you really are, and I know you would hate it if I were to let all your classmates and teachers know about it."

Mei growled and clenched her jaw.

In that moment, Todoroki made his way over.

"That's my queue." said Monoma, when he saw the boy approach. But as he was walking away, he tripped on his shoe laces and fell.

Mei burst into laughter. "Oh, Karma is a bitch, ain't it?" she said.

Monoma frowned angrily, while he got back up and left.

Finally, Momo walked out of the classroom to meet Mei.

"You're smiling. Did something good happen?" asked Momo.

"Can't I just smile because I feel like it?" said Mei.

"Monoma tripped and fell in the hallway." said Todoroki.

"Oh." Momo nodded. "That's fair."

SHOTO'S POV

In the locker room, the Class 1-A boys were changing into their sports uniforms.

When Todoroki walked in, he realized Kirishima, Sero and Kaminari were talking about Mei.

"You keep talking about how cute she is." said the red-haired boy. "Why don't you go ask her out?"

"I thought about it." shrugged Kaminari. "But I feel like all it'd get me is a kick in the balls."

"That's true." Sero laughed. "Oh, Todoroki! You and Shinomori have been getting along better lately, haven't you? What do you think? Should Kaminari ask her out?"

Todoroki froze.

"Um, I..." he didn't know what to say. He didn't want anyone asking Mei out. But he also couldn't explain why. Part of him just wanted to say then and there what she was promised to him. "I don't know."

The boys all looked at each other, confused.

"You don't have the hots for Shinomori too, do you?" asked Kirishima, with a raised brow.

Before Shoto could respond, the bell rang. It was time for gym class.

After class, Mei went to Momo's to borrow some books.

The two girls walked into the Yaoyorozu estate, and while they took their shoes off by the door, a 'meow' sounded off close by.

"Oh, I told you about Mr. Peanut, right?" said Momo, as a cat made his way to them. "We're watching him for our neighbours this week."

Mei looked down at the cat and frowned.

"This cat is looking at me with judgment." said Mei, glaring at the cat.
