"Excuse me, you're the girl I bumped into earlier by accident, right?"
How sweet of him to take the blame but I knew better that it was really me who crashed into him tryna get my tardy ass to school. Regardless I nodded in response and he slid down his mouth mask, giving me a small smile with his nice plump lips.
"I thought so. I just wanted to ask if you're alright? From the crash I mean."
I did bump into him pretty hard for us to drop our stuff, but overall I was alright.
"I'm alright. A-are you alright? I bumped into you pretty hard, your phone dropped. Oh! If it broke I'll pay for any damages!!"
He quickly waved his hand dismissively with a light chuckle, "Oh no, no, it's not broken! I'm fine and my phone is fine."
I sigh in relief, that meant I don't have to pay for anything. I'm a broke ass college student I ain't got the cash to fix his iPhone X anyways.
"Oh, are you an international student?" He then asks me, pointing to my textbook and notebooks.
"Yup! I'm from Los Angeles."
"Oh cool! My friend is from LA. It's very hot there."
"Tell me about it, haha!"
He takes a sip from his cup and I decide to push the chair in front of me with my foot, gesturing for him to sit down. He denies my offer, shaking his head.
"You're busy studying, I was about to leave and let you get back to work."
"Nah, it's cool. I don't really feel like doing homework right now, I've got a macchiato I wanna finish first. I also don't want to keep you standing there, so have a seat, I feel like we'll be talking for awhile haha." I tell him with a cheerful smile, closing my books up and sliding them back in my bag.
He finally takes my offer and sits himself down in front of me. He thanks me and I tell him it's no problem.
"How come you were in a hurry this morning?"
"Haha uh...I woke up late and I ended up missing my first class. Hehe I probably shouldn't have stayed up streaming Khalid's new music video."
He chuckles, "It happens."
I decide to continue sparking the conversation, "Do you go to university as well? You look like a junior or a senior."
"I believe I'd be a senior. I didn't go to university after I graduated high school."
"Ah okay. College ain't for everyone." I say with a sip from my cup.
"What's your year?"
"I'm a junior! I'm studying business. I came to Korea to study abroad for a year since the university my school partners with has a really good business program!"
He nods his head, "True, the university around the corner from here is one of the top schools with a good business program. So, how do you like South Korea?"
"Love it. I not only came because of the business program at the school, but I wanted to know more about the other half of my roots."
"You're half Korean?"
"Yup! Blasian and blessed! Unfortunately my dad passed before I could learn from him."
He frowns, "I'm sorry about that."
"Nah, it's alright. I'm here now and I'm learning a lot! I appreciate being who I am more and more." I say with a smile keeping the positive.
He smiles back, "That's good!"
