*An Elder Scrolls Fan-fic & 1st book of the Godfall series*
**A novella
**Ultra slow burn DargonbornXSerana but married to Elisif
**This series will include my Neravarine, Champion of Kvatch, and Dragonborn
**Lore was researched and a bit of medieva...
I've taken a bit of creative license in some scenes and we get pretty dark and gritty pretty quick. I went with the Legion for the story solely for plot purposes. Talion personally wishes to oust the Empire but wishes to do it later for various reasons. One is Skyrim would struggle economically and be considered easy prey for the (spellcheck me XD) Aldermi Dominion. (If you read Ulfric's Dossier when you go to the Embassy Ulfric is a sleeper agent of the High Elves.) Two, Tulius once mentioned that something going on in Cyrodil make the civil war in Skyrim "a sideshow", this would be a better time to revolt.
I understand Legion stories turn some people off but now that is out of the way...
This is the general layout of the world so far and how the MC has affected it:
The Civil War, and what side the MC is on...
The Civil War is Over: The Legion is victor. The post-war dynamics are inspired by the violent post-war Wild West era that came up right after the American Civil War with some Stormcloaks fleeing Skyrim (Solstheim & more), starting secret organizations (cults mostly), and/or assimilating with the natives (Forsworn).
The remnants of the Dōv have gone into hiding and some Stormcloak zealots may have been desperate enough to go to them.
Though the Forsworn were driven out by the Stormcloaks before the Civil War they both are enemies of the Empire; using the common foe as leverage the Stormcloak's have become neutral with some of the Foresworn. Ever since the prison break in Markarth the King of Rags is beginning to become a serious threat.
The Dragonborn's aka Talion Wraithblood's martial status...
The Dragonborn has been in Skyrim for 20 years, it took ten to defeat Alduin. It's been a few years after the war and the defeat of Miraak. My MC, Talion Wraithblood, is married to the Jarl of Solitude but had a fling with Serana beforehand just before putting down the mad dog of her father.
Nothing came of the fling (...or did it?) since Serana turned Talion down after he proposed. He moved on and had a son after marriage with the Jarl of Solitude, Elisif the Fair.
Elisif is the widow of the former High King that got obliterated (I changed it up slightly) via Ulfric. In the passing of time, a moot, or a Nordic vote, is passed and Talion is elected High King.
This means their son is heir... ---- The Political Power of the MC
Also, if you finish Neloth's quests in Solstheim he will make you an honorary member of House Telvanni in Morrowind. With being a war hero, Dragonborn, having successfully negotiated a temporary ceasefire at High Hrothgar, being husband of the High King's widow, and being an ambassador/royalty to those in Morrowind; Talion smashed the political competition.
Not to mention he's the reason why some of the Jarl's are in their seats.

He's not without his flaws however. Hermaeus Mora, the Lord of Dark Secrets, still remembers helping the Dragonborn defeat Miraak... and he feels neglected.
Also in Boethiah's quests he sacrificed the mercenary from the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun to obtain the Ebony Mail from Boethiah's champion. Now... he may be replaced if Boethiah can help it. Also, Serana is a Daughter of Coldharbour and a vampire of Molag Bal... if you do the quest for the Mace of Molag Bal he says verbatim that Boethiah is his enemy and vice versa.
Also the Daedric Prince Meridia had given the Dawnbreakers to the Dragonborn before his corruption with Boethiah and Hermaeus Mora to spread her religion; not to have her blades sit on his wall. (I say plural because I happened onto a glitch where if you shout the last Shade you have a chance of getting two.) And consequently Meridia also is in the market for a new champion if she can help it.
That's 3deities that aren't happy and deities are exponentially more powerful than any Jarl.
Also after helping Hermaeus Mora reap the secrets from the Skalls, the tribes of Nords on Solstheim, they have ignored Talion's ambassadors and may be accepting zealot Stormcloaks into their camp and pirating the Empire's ships.
The records of the Dragonborn supposedly killing citizens of Markarth and breaking out are still there. Another possible stain to his throne.
Also if his fling with Serana was found out it could hurt his political image. Additionally if someone found out about his dealings with Hermaeus Mora and Boethiah his image would be ruined. In fact, there is controversy already brewing in the dark corners of Skyrim and Solstheim...
I didn't even mention the strange side effects of reading the Elder Scroll in the time wound, and three more times in the Ancestral Glade that may or may not come into play as well in Talion's life... ------------
I hope you enjoyed the thought I put into the story! I hope it's also a sign that while this is my first Skyrim fanfic this isn't some willy-nilly run-of-the-mill garbage I thought of at McDonald's. Now... enjoy!
I also put a few red-herrings in there to either get you interested or/and conceal whatever spoilers there may be. XD
