"A.D," a woman called out.

"Boo!" she jumped after he popped out of nowhere.

"You scared me!" she exclaimed, putting a hand on her chest.

He hugged her lovingly and gently pulled away to see her angelic face. He smiled as he tucked a lock of hair behind her ear.

He leaned and whispered to her, "I promise to only live for you Heather."

She smiled back and looked at him with affection. "We will forever be in each other's warmth," she smiled and kissed him.

Anais' POV

I woke up and got up. I shook my head and thought of my dream. The man's face was blurry and I felt like I was that woman. I felt like I was in that place before but I haven't seen it my whole life! I was confused as to why I had that kind of dream and thought that maybe it could happen in my future. But it couldn't possibly happen to me because I don't even have any suitors okay! Not that I would love to have one but the idea is what matters. I'm just confusing myself. Why would I worry? It's not a big deal...isn't it?

Oh wait...I remember hearing the name Heather. It sounds a bit familiar. Who mentioned it again? Mom? No. Henry? No. Aha! It's August. But to think of it, it does not sound like a coincidence that he knows Heather and the man in my dream had a lover whose name is the same. Or maybe I dreamed about it because it was a warning that I shouldn't be around a guy who hasn't done loving his past. So my dream was not about my future, it only gave me high hopes.

I quickly ran downstairs and greeted my mom who was in the counter.

"Honey, eat your breakfast now. You'll be late for school," she asked while she prepared the table.

"Mom, it's Saturday," I chuckled and sat down.

"Oh I forgot,"

I leaned back on my chair and childishly swayed my feet. Should I tell mom about my dream or not? She'll probably say not to care about it. I solved it anyway and I also don't want to bother her.

"Did you have a good sleep last night?" she asked as she put my breakfast in front of me.

I nodded and started eating my meal. It wasn't a surprise that it was great. As expected of my mom, she's a good cook that makes me love her even more.

"By the way mom, don't you have work today?" I asked after swallowing my food.

"Uh," she muttered and sat down on the chair next to me. "I took a temporary leave," she added and frowned.

"Why?"

"Your father is there," she said making me stop for a moment.

"I have a father? Wow, I didn't know. Just when mom?" I asked bitterly.

"Anais, don't joke around. I'm serious. He was admitted there and he requested to have me as his personal doctor," she explained and set her hands on the table.

"That darn bastard. He sure have guts to do that," I cursed and laughed bitterly, clenching my fists.

"Mom, taking a leave was a mistake. You should have showed him that he's just a speck of dust in your life now," I said and turned to look at her.

"No honey, it was a wise decision. He kept on pestering me about taking you away from me," she sobbed and covered her face.

"Ha! Like I'm going to agree with that. Doesn't he know that my hatred for him has gone far from the limit? Don't worry mom, I won't let him get me," I gritted my teeth and hugged my mom for comfort.

If you're going to take me Henry then I'll give your wife especially your child a little game of survival. Let's see who wins then.

After a moment of drama, mom pulled away from the hug and wiped her tears.

"Yeah I shouldn't worry. I know my Anais is tough," she chuckled and gently patted my head.

"Oh I remembered, I'll go visit your aunt today, wanna come?" she asked to change the tensed atmosphere.

"I'll probably just stay here mom," I replied.

"Okay honey. You take care of the house especially yourself while I'm not home okay?" she asked and went to grab the car key.

"Okay mom," I replied.

She left and the house was silent. Anyways, it's time for me to party. I finally had some time alone. I breathed and exhaled the air of contentment. I quickly ran to my room to get my laptop and hurried downstairs and jumped on the sofa.

Hmmm, what should I do? Aha! I'll go to my secret forum. The Elven Discussion Forum, a private site where interested learners of mythology, specifically to Elves, gathers and exchanges information.

Before entering the site, I let out a yawn and stretched my arms and legs. I saw a few unread notifications and clicked it.

Hannah shared a story:

Have you guys heard the news about the Elf Hunters? There have been rumors that they came to town but I can't assure you if it's true or not. I also heard that a bombing has recently occurred so I presume that it's related to the former news. What do you think?

Troy replied:

Yeah I heard that news, the bombing one. I'm quite persuaded by your hypothesis but I'm still figuring out if Elves do exist.

Celine replied:

Thanks for the information @Hannah. I didn't know about the recent bombing and the Elf Hunters so I don't know if they're related to each other.

Tabitha replied:

I'll believe you if you'll show me some evidences about the existence of Elves.

Hannah replied to her story:

I won't force you @Tabitha. I'm just sharing what I know since this is an ELVES' discussion forum.

Logan replied:

Damn! Nice one @Hannah.

Elf Hunters are coming to town! I sang and pretended to be scared. I believe you Hannah, Elves exist so as Elf Hunters. I sent a reply and showed her my support. I scanned through the notifications and clicked another topic.

Aloutte shared a story:

Guys, can you help me? I've been wondering if Elves are real or not. I mean, it's just a mythological idea created decades or centuries ago. I've also wondered if this forum is senseful, no offense but I'm bothered about it.

Heidi replied:

@Aloutte believe in what you think is true.

Felicity replied:

To be honest, I'm a bit offended when you said if there's a sense in this forum since I'm one of the admins but I respect you. Sharing about what I believe, I think they're real and that's the reason we founded this forum.

Nicolai replied:

I don't know. I'm still doubting.

Eleanor replied:

I would love to believe it.

Demitrius replied:

It's all in your heads! You people are so into fiction. It's just a myth. Nothing to get attached with!

I stopped reading and creased my brows. What's wrong with this guy? If he thinks about it that way then he shouldn't have joined this forum. You're digging your own grave you know. I sighed heavily and continued to read their replies until I stopped at a name.

August replied:

Yes.
