Dedicated to gothetically
Anais' POV
I decided to finally hear his explanation because who am I to exaggerate like this? And also, I'm ready to hear the truth. I want to know what happened between him and I for the past centuries. I want to know why fate has always let us meet. I want to know what happened to my past selves.
We decided to talk at the seashore to have a nice and calm conversation. We found a bench and sat there. I looked at the sun, slowly setting on the horizon as the clouds slightly covered it. It was indeed a ravishing view. I was suddenly pulled out of my thoughts when August cleared his throat.
"Oh sorry, I forgot you were here," I bluntly said.
"Anais, I'll explain everything to you now," he started and I nodded.
"As I told you before, Prim, Luna, Heather, and you are one. They were all my past girlfriends but that doesn't make me a playboy okay? Our fate was written ages ago. That fate was meeting each other but we have to compensate something in exchange for that. One should be left behind. That's what fate wants," he explained making me crease my forehead.
"This 'fate' thing is silly. Why would it want us to meet but leave one of us behind in the end? It's all a shit okay. If fate is on our side then why would it do something funny? Why would it let us be hurt? I'll tell you one thing, fate is a sadist," I groaned and crossed my arms over my chest. This is stupid.
"Anais, we have to fight this together. We can overcome this if we have each other," he begged as he held my hands.
"Yes, I know August. I would also like to give this 'fate' a little beating. My life, my rules," I said and scoffed.
"Haha you sure will," he replied and went silent for a moment so I had to suddenly cut it out.
"Hey hey wait. How did you know about this? Are you kidding me?! How can you know me from my past lives who lived centuries ago?! How can you know all about this?! August, I know you're trying so hard to make me experience something crazy and make me happy just for once but it's enough. Your hard work is much appreciated," I said and nodded, patting his back. August, I appreciate your kindness so kindly stop this now.
"Unless you're actually an oldie," I joked but his reply took me to another dimension.
"Yes, that's true," he replied but almost sounding like a whisper.
"What?! No way! I hate to admit this but you're a baby-faced,"
"Actually...I have one more thing to say to you," he said hesitantly which made me crease my brows in response.
"Anais, I'm an elf," he said it at last! My jaws dropped instantly and I moved a little farther from him. I believe now that I'm a reincarnation of whoever she is but meeting an elf for real?! Haha! Fate, you're really getting on my nerves. And the man standing in front of me, claiming that's he's an elf, is August. August! I hate his guts for no reason! You know that peeps!
"HAHAHA! You can make your own circus August! You're putting quite a show here! I'll help you with your business," I joked but I meant it. Well, I have been hoping for elves to exist since when I was young but there's no way he's an elf!
The bench we were sitting suddenly floated up in the air as he raised his hands! Am I dreaming?! My grip on the arm of the bench tightened as it went higher. He's the real deal!
"Stooop!" I demanded and the bench slowly descended. Wew! I heard my heart was knocking furiously from the inside telling me to let him out!
"Wha-wh-what just happened?!" I asked in confusion.
