Anais' POV
What the? So I've been following a neighbor all this time? I...I didn't expect him to live here. So it goes like this: first, he suddenly popped out of nowhere into my life, second, mysterious things seem to happen just as he came, and lastly, he's unexpectedly my neighbor. How could things be this coincidental?
He got out of his car and walked towards his gate. I sneakily followed him and immediately hid behind a bush near his gate. I heard him clear his throat and said, "You can come out now, my stalker."
I was taken aback and my jaws dropped. So he knew all along that I was trailing behind him! Gosh, I just made myself look like an idiot! A shameful airhead! Wait! What does he mean with "my stalker"?! Excuse me? I'm not anyone's stalker alright?!
I cleared my throat and revealed myself. He looked at me confusingly and obviously controlled his laughter.
"So what are you doing here, Miss Addington?" he asked and raised a brow. He's got a smug look on his face now. Ughhh!
"I...I was just wandering around," I lied and showed a fake smile.
"Oh," he nodded. "By the way, what is your car doing here?" he asked. Crap! I'll admit he's got his wits.
"It's uh...uh I parked it there! Why? Do you have a problem with that?" I retorted and crossed my arms at him. His smug look still was there and I swear, it's very annoying. So annoying that I want to tear his face into a million pieces!
"Well it's not a parking area though," he replied and shrugged.
"I'm going to park it in our garage okay? Can't you wait?" I rolled my eyes at him making him laugh.
"What's funny?" I asked and gave him a stern look. He stopped and dramatically wiped a tear on his eye.
"You can just admit that you followed me here," he replied and laughed again. Well, I did follow him...a little.
"No I didn't!" I denied and I can feel my face heating up in embarrassment. He jammed his hands in his front pockets and blew his cheeks.
"Okay my stalker," he replied and smirked. He opened the gate and motioned to come in but I immediately stopped him.
"Wait! Aren't you going to let me in?" I asked and raised an eyebrow. He looked at me suspiciously and I can say that he was confused.
"Uh well, since I'm here already, aren't you going to invite me in? For a tea maybe?" I asked and waited for his answer.
"I'm very honored to invite you, Ms. Addington, in my house for a cup of tea," he replied and opened the gate for me. Oohh, that was such a sweet gesture of you.
We walked inside his house, I mean his mansion. It was incredibly huge and luxurious. Every time I come out of our house, I would always imagine myself living here and then selling it to make a fortune. Haha! Stupidity right?
I roamed around and stared at the antique paintings hanged on the wall. They looked like they came from their origins which made my jaws drop in amazement. His vases were pure antiques too and every ornaments looked so old-fashioned.
I sat on his sofa and it was very comfortable making me feel at home, well I did lie down for a while. After a few minutes, he brought a tray with two cups of tea on it. I think he brought herbal teas from the looks of it. What a classy jerk.
"Do you know the history of herbal teas?" he asked as he took a sip. I shook my head which made him smile.
"Actually, herbal tea started from Yuan Dynasty in China. Chinese people would drink a cup of herbal tea if they feel sick because the weather in Southern China was damp heat." he explained, taking another sip of the tea.
